I'm suspicious. Wouldn't they have known in November if they were playing? And in November they said they "haven't got a call" and they're just the WORST liars so I think if they'd known at the time they would have said something mysterious like "We're not allowed to talk about it..." and everyone would have known instantly? I hate the Daily Star with a passion ever since they made up some horrible eating disorder story that ended with Tom having to issue an official statement. Fucking disgusting. but somewhere in my mind i would like they turn off the offer if they have it, like "ho yeah glasto wanted us but fuck them ^^" As far as I understood they already said we're only playing it again if we're headlining. But I don't think they would turn a gig down. Judging by the absolute shitholes where I've seen them.

Yeah that's why i'm a little nervous waiting for a confirmation because after all these rumors it would be hard if it finally wasn't true As far as I understood they already said we're only playing it again if we're headlining. But I don't think they would turn a gig down. Judging by the absolute shitholes where I've seen them. I know they most probably would not turn a gig especially glasto, but i'm more spiteful than our guys and they were so disapointed last year

and they were so disapointed last year I don't think they were genuinely heartbroken. I'm sure they want to do it, but Glastonbury is not that all that exciting anymore since they let bands like Mumford & Sons headline. And Tom calling Eavis a bastard was more of a joke anyway, for him that's practically a term of endearment. The press just takes everything they say much too seriously.

All the negativity of them potentially headlining is already flying about.If it is true then maybe we will get the album in the latter half of May.I don't see how they could headline with a new album barely out and didn't they say we will get to hear a few new songs in Leicester .

Last time they played about two weeks after the release of West Ryder, I think, but they didn't headline of course. Although I don't see why that wouldn't work, Rolling Stones headlined last year and they released their last album in 2005. Kasabian could definitely headline right now without any of the new material. In 2011 they were playing four new songs before Velociraptor was out, so they could very well play new ones in Leicester without the album being out at all, but I'm rooting for May as well. June seems so far away somehow. I want it in the first half of the year.

I totally forgot about IOW .Yes they could headline Glastonbury without the new album being released and I suppose about 4 new songs would be adequate otherwise it wont make good viewing .So a few good rarities will hopefully see the light of day . All this talk and the rumours are probably false but good publicity for the new album.

All this talk and the rumours are probably false but good publicity for the new album. Not just Isle of Wight, they played 25 gigs before the album came out, including several headline slots. My personal theory about Glasto is that the extra special inside source is management giving the Daily Star a call saying go and create a bit of hype. Because how stupid would they look if it wasn't true now? (Although something being completely made up has never stopped them from publishing it...) And NME knew as well, that's probably why they put them on the cover, because everyone is talking about them right now, what a coincidence.

There are rumours on twitter that Kasabian might play either Subbotnik Festival (5 July 2014) or Park Live (27-29 June 2014) in Moscow.

At Subbotnik they would play as Co-Headliners before Placebo.
Park Live would make them play in Athens Wednesday, Evreux Friday, Moscow Sunday ... I would wonder if that happens. Also it would destroy all Glastonbury hopes.
==> Subbotnik please :-)

Park Live would make them play in Athens Wednesday, Evreux Friday, Moscow Sunday ... I would wonder if that happens. Also it would destroy all Glastonbury hopes. I was thinking the same. I'm pretty sure all those things about Glasto wouldn't have been published if it wasn't true. Even if the Daily Star is the opposite of trustworthy, I can't imagine they would put a big story like that out there if it was based on nothing more than a rumour, and then it turns out that Take That are headlining and everyone's like, erm, what was that about Kasabian?

Looks like Park Live has a few very big names confirmed as headlines already - The Prodigy, Marylin Manson etc and I don't think Kasabian would fit in there. Subbotnik (and Glasto too) seem more likely now.

Someone messaged us on Tumblr and told us that Kasabian are rumoured to play MOST Festival in Minsk, Belarus this year.

There is a quote from one of the organisers of MOST Festival in Minsk here, saying that the headliners have now been confirmed, he can't name the band yet, but they'll have a new album out in 2014 and their previous one was a number 1 in the UK. (Can it be somebody else?) He also says that they're not Metallica's level, but still a fabulous indie band. MOST took place in the beginning of July last year and if it's around the same dates this year it'll fit in well with Subbotnik Festival on 5th.
