For all the collectors out there - what's your most desired release or Paradise number that you don't own yet?
I'm still missing 56 and 56S, the West Ryder album promo and sampler, and I would kill for the Velociraptor instrumentals. Not even after a physical copy that urgently, but everytime I listen to Acid Turkish Bath I die a little bit inside because I want to hear the instrumental.

I think I have 1 or 2 missing from the proper paradise list, need the Italian EP with that awful Simple Pleasures remix and some of the Live! releases. Agree about the instrumentals, would love to have them and really want this |

I've got all of those 3 that you are missing, 56 and 56s in particluar are extremely hard to come by, just keep looking i'm sure one will turn up eventually. As for the Velociraptor Instrumentals, drop me a PM and i'll sort you a copy of the songs from mine so you can have a listen. It's even harder to come by than the other 2, i've only ever seen 2 for sale and one of them is in my collection. Good luck with hunting them down. |

I got my Italian EP via Amazon Marketplace, it's easy to get. I don't think I'll ever buy all the Live at the O2 DVD releases, it's just pointless, they're all the same, putting different numbers on them is almost rude. I did acquire a Blu-ray player in the meantime so if I see a cheap one I'll probably get it, but it's not too urgent. Also, I'm always thinking I should be saving some money for the next round of releases and not keep buying Japanese/Argentinian/Dutch versions of everything I already have. Ohhh so hard to resist.

Thank you for the link @crazyhorse69, I will keep an eye. I'm sure the Italian EP is easy to fine, I think I'm just reluctant to buy it - I will do one day just because it has a paradise number. I don't think I have 56S either and another release I really want (and have never seen for sale) is the Canadian album sampler.
Also I think there a Fire promo with a paradise number which I don't have - mine doesn't have a number. Does anybody have it? I really should make an effort one day to find it

Quick question from a non-collector.. why 'Paradise' number? I know that's what it's called, but why? What's the relevance to Kasabian/label/industry? And as an avid amateur car cleaning enthusiast, I totally understand and respect your addiction to the collecting. I guess the difference is, at least your passion has a potential material value at the end of the day. I just wash, clay, polish and wax my car, only for it to be minging again by the end of the British winter week  |

I don't know where exactly the Paradise thing originated as a term, but they named their first studio on the farm (perhaps a bit ironically) Paradise Studios, so it might be a reference to that. Generally it's just another catalogue number to tell the different releases apart, like Oasis used to have cat numbers starting with RKID. I guess it's nice for people who are into collecting anyway, and it turns into a bit of a Pokemon thing, gotta catch em all. I just wish the label/whoever would stop screwing up, assigning existing numbers twice and forgetting the rest.

I don't dare to hope for CD singles again next year, it probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but I appreciate the current arrangement, which is vinyls for collectors and digital downloads for everyone else.
Although there's still lots of room for improvement. It would have been better to put Narcotic Farm on the vinyl and not just the digital single, and then maybe not put it out for free before the release date. Even if they claimed it was "Narcotic Farm II" and a different version, it's identical. How braindead do you have to be to give away the b-side for free, the only incentive to buy a single at all? I seem to remember that the KOAN remix (or the Z-Trip one?) turned up on Soundcloud ahead of the single as well.
I'll see myself out before I unleash the whole list of complaints.

Had a lot of fun over the years hunting down the Paradise releases. The Italian EP getting a number after the major mistakes of the Velociraptor! era was really the straw for me and I got out while the going was good.
My most wanted releases for a time were the Fast Fuse EP, Club Foot; Temple of Hell and the West Ryder eco-style package, surprisingly enough.
