There is absolutely longetivity in the band. Serge had the crowd in the palm of his hands last night.
You could feel the passion from them all.
For me their best album will always be their debut.
I like their softer tunes but live sometimes you just want to have an absolute party

Like to address a few things here. Imagine how these guys must have felt last night. They've seen all the stuff on social media about it won't be the same, they're just a tribute act. I'd imagine they felt nervous going on stage without Tom. He was their friend and the band belonged to all of them. I reckon in a way they just wanted to get through the gig and show that they still have it. Bands evolve over time and they've always had huge dance influence to their sound. That's their roots, Serge loves all types of music which I've always felt was a strength of the band. They have swagger but emotion. As for not announcing Rob Harvey, part of the aura for Kasabian for me has always been the mystery. They don't give too much away. They keep us guessing. Yeah, Tom will be missed but it's a new chapter and I'm looking forward to hearing his solo stuff. I guess what we missed was Tom's soulful sound which was another huge part of the band. We still have those great drums from Ian and Chris is still there too. Tim now a part of the band which is great to see. Absolutely agree that it would have taken lion balls to go out there and perform last night. Fair play to them for putting on a show. I would argue that their sound is more influenced by 'electronic' music as opposed to 'dance'. The debut album was heavily influenced by the likes of Can, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk etc. Tom won't just be 'missed', he leaves a chasm that the band simply cannot replace. As people have said on social media, it's like taking Jagger out of the Stones, LG out of Oasis etc. I'm all for them carrying on without Tom if that's their perogative, but it's just not 'Kasabian' anymore. Good luck to them all, but last night is my final time watching them live methinks.

Would you stop going to see the football team you support if one of your star players left?
My thinking is that Rob Harvey could end up in time taking more of a presence further forward once he is integrated in to the band. Guess we'll need to wait and see.

Not the best analogy as a football team has 10 other relatable players that create that on-pitch dynamic. Materially, Kasabian was all about Tom and Serge. When you lose 50% of that dynamic it's felt far greater.

So many people are saying they'll get back together for Liam's gigs but I really don't think so. I don't think Tom even wants to be in Kasabian right now, nor would it be good for him. He said more than once that touring and the whole lifestyle were a big factor in his mental health issues. He's making his own music now and I think if people really want to support him, the best thing they can do is support his solo record instead of yelling at Kasabian to take him back. I can see them getting back together someday, but not within the next few years.

I'm liking what I've heard so far from what has been posted on his socials. It's still raw for everyone, whether it be us as fans and them as a band and friends

Is it me or are Tom's vocals overlaid in the background at the start of Ill Ray here? Fast forward to the last five seconds of the vid.

I've heard it suggested that Rob has a similar tone to Tom but not sure how true that is

When it got announced that Rob was singing i looked him up and to me he did sound a bit like Tom but better in my opinion. First thing i am so happy Re -wired has hopefully been dropped and some other stuff is getting played.I'm seeing them in Southampton and the Brixton 2nd date so it will be interesting to see how they progress as the tour goes on.

to get used to Serge's vocals on non Serge's songs is harder than I imagined. And still wondering where's the new material
