Set list isn’t the most inspiring. From the videos I’ve seen I’m not sure yet, but so glad that Serge and the rest of the band can carry on.
Looking forward to seeing them live.

The setlist could have been much worse, imo. Pretty bummed there were no new songs, although they promised there'd be (if I remember the announcement correctly).
Happiness is a tune! Ladies and Gentlemen is a great song too. They could have just played the usual. But they brought back some almost forgotten ones, which is amazing.

I'll tell you now that gig was unbelievable. I'd say only Ladies and Gentlemen never worked.
It was pretty much a full on dance/rap gig and I loved it.
Serge has always had great stage presence and the band were on top form.
Unbelievable atmosphere.
Happiness was only played for 30 seconds by the way.
I haven't sweated as much at a gig for over 20 years. If folk are going to see them this tour then you're in for a Treat.
The stuff from Kasabian worked particularly well.

Did Fast Fuse work with Serge's voice? Intro for next song. I think Serge's voice worked well for every song bar Ladies and Gentlemen. I love SLP so it was right up my street. Gig had vibes of early on when they were breaking through. Unbelievable energy and DJ got everyone in the mood. |

That’s a really lovely post. First show without Rick too, man that must have been emotional. Re. The set list, I can understand why they’re playing it safe, they probably feel that they need to prove themselves to some fans, and I can imagine if they’d played anything new or unusual you’d get casual fans saying “they’ve got all wEiRd, it’s not tHe SaMe without Tom”, or something you know? I know we’ve just seen tiny clips, but Serge sounded great, so did the whole band! If it wasn’t for Covid I’d be there, I want to show my support, and I’m buzzing for everyone who is going to this tour. Edited to add, @bumblejaybee - so glad to hear it!! |
