I think most of us won't have heard much live stuff from FCOL for example. They hardly played any of it, didn't they? They never played Good Fight, All Through The Night and Sixteen Blocks. They only played Twentyfourseven and The Party Never Ends a few times. AYLFA only once. They also never played Explodes and Doomsday, and Glass once. There has never been a more perfect moment to get weird with the setlist. One of the things I felt was starting to become obvious with the FCOL tour was that the sets were starting to become unbalanced with Serge only singing one song on his own. He was singing several songs per album and that limitation was making it increasingly difficult for some of them to even see the light of day live. I felt at the time that some of those songs maybe needed reworking to include Tom (or Tom more), but for now that's sadly not an issue. Hoping that even if they feel the need to play relatively safe with the sets (please don't play safe, please don't play safe!) they can be a bit more balanced. Loved Good Fight on record, but don't think they'll fancy playing anything with fight in the title for a while.

I can't see them playing Thick as Thieves or any of the songs he wrote for Tom. It'll be interesting. Did anyone else get a notification for an Instagram story that wasn't there this morning?

I wonder if they'll go ahead with the gigs, considering the current covid situation in the UK. The rate per 100k is almost 500. Just for comparison, in Germany it's 12 and I still feel unsafe.

We've just had two major (outdoor) festivals over the weekend. Going to be interesting to see what the fallout will be from those. Meantime reported infections have fallen for 6th straight day, but this is potentially due to schools being closed for summer (kids not being tested/parents not congragating at gates to pickup kids), plus more people outdoors cos the weather's nice. It's going to be an interesting couple of months. We have 70% of the adult population double jabbed. But does anyone really know how this will play out....

Aren't they a little silent from the time they announced the tour??I would love to hear your opinion about it.

I've been thinking about whether we'll get an interview or anything at all before October. Or in case they do interviews, whether they'll address the Tom situation or not. I don't know which one I'm hoping for. Is it only a tour with no further plans or will there be new music? They implied new music in the tour announcement, so maybe next year? Or they'll just drop a surprise album like Beyonce.

Forever? Even if they don't do it right now, I think it would be worse if they never mention it and just pretend he was never in the band. They never really talked about Karloff again except for a few tiny comments, and they immediately forgot about Jay after he left. And their contributions were negligible compared to Tom. On one hand they don't owe us any kind of soul baring, on the other hand I would be extremely upset if they just moved on like it meant nothing.

There's going to be a tour DJ again. Have they had one since DJ Dan?

I'm really uneasy about the setlist somehow. I thought they were finally being forced to switch things up, but they aren't going to headline IoW without Underdog, LSF or Fire. So worst case it'll be exactly the same songs they always played but without Tom. All this time I was thinking this could be really interesting and I can't wait to see what they do. But the more high profile gigs they announce the less hope I have that we're going to see a bunch of songs that suit Serge's voice and vibe.

I think LSF and Fire can suit Serge's voice. Not so sure about Underdog, though. But of course, I'd like the setlist to (finally!) be more varied, with Serge's classical jams like La Fee Verte, Acid Turkish Bath, U Boat.
