Absolutely gutted. But - health must come before anything else. Look after yourself Tom. Thank you for the awesome memories - we’ve seen you 8 times and you did not disappoint. 💕

Shocking news today... Hope the band will go further somehow. Good luck to Tom, waiting for details why he left the band.

Terrible news. We know that Tom hasn't been OK for a few years now, but I never thought it would ever come to this.
If this is to be the end, then I can only say thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
There was a period of time that, without Kasabian, and without seeing them at King Power in 2016, I probably wouldn't be here. That's not being dramatic or hyperbolic. That's the truth.
Kasabian helped to pull me out of a deep dark hole, and it's just devastating to think that Tom's the one now doing it tough.

The statement isn’t very forgiving - I guess time will tell but it doesn’t sound like a friendly split. Sad sad times

I'm gutted, but mainly worried about Tom because that does not sound very good. I hope he can fight whatever is troubling him and be well again.

Hey everyone, I couldn’t remember my old password, so new account made. Tom’s issued a statement, it’s reassuring to hear he’s ok, but I’m still reeling tbh http://instagr.am/p/CCTUIC5nZm_

I can’t get over the statement from the band though. After all these years, all they’ve been through together, THAT’S what they say? Seeing a lot of tweets saying it’s like they’ve thrown him under a bus 😢 Even Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs (from Oasis) tweeted saying it could have been worded better. And he’s seen some messy band splits! Sorry, I know the main thing is that Tom, and the rest of the band, are all ok, it’s just such a shock.

The first and last sentence would have been enough. This is just asking for people to go crazy with speculations. But the announcement of Karloff's departure was similarly unpleasant.

I can't quite believe it. I never thought it would come to this given how tight they are/were :-(
The more I read the statement, the more it does feel very final and abrupt. Given that Tom was discussing a "seventh baby" only a fortnight ago, it hardly seems like a decision that's been coming for many months. It also lacks warmth and respect IMO. Tom's bro and sister-in-law liked my up-in-arms tweet about it, which suggests that Tom's loved ones aren't overly happy with how the situation has been painted.

I also feel Tom's statement is rather telling for its total lack of mentioning his former band and band mates. I do hope though, naively, that they all are just rubbish at PR!

It feels dirty to speculate, but a statement like that one is just asking for it.
I remember reading interviews around FCOL and being struck by the contrast between Tom and Serge at the time. Forget about not being on the same page, it seemed like they were reading from two separate books! Tom was being open about his mental and emotional struggles, very much on the verge of tears at points. Meanwhile Serge was gleefully boasting about how great his life is now with a stupid grin on his face. Obviously I was thrilled Serge had found happiness, and it resulted in some amazing music. But I remember thinking bloody hell, you could be a bit more sympthatic towards your friend mate.
If that was the dynamic over the past 3 years, it makes sense they'd finally fall out. Doesn't make it any less sad though.

It's akin to two friends that have been inseparable since school but have grown apart and live very different lives. The trouble is, they achieved this fame and fortune together, so I hope it's not a case of Tom being allowed to rot, no matter what he may have done.

I'm still in shock, and I think I'm more shocked how heartless and cold that statement is. No mention of being a band, a close-knit group, no mention of their achievements together, any kindness and care. Sounds horrible. I'd really like to know who wrote it and who saw and thought it's ok to put it online like that. And IF Tom is having mental health issues - is this the most sensitive thing you can do?
I was at his zoom event recently, he was happy, talking about writing, positive about the future, talking about Serge - and there was absolutely nothing that sounded or felt unusual. It's so upsetting.

Tom's bro and sister-in-law liked my up-in-arms tweet about it, which suggests that Tom's loved ones aren't overly happy with how the situation has been painted. That reminds me. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but when Serge played a little session on that guitar they were auctioning off, John commented something salty along the lines of "if only we had the technology for the rest of the band to join in" And where did this even come from? Presumably they're still in lockdown. In Serge's most recent interview he was "talking to Tom every other day." In Tom's very recent Sky interview he was talking about the next album, gushing about Serge's solo record... what happened? I want this so desperately not to be a big falling out between Tom and Serge. Everyone else in other bands was always hating each other and knocking each other's teeth out, I mean I was an Oasis fan, you know. And their worst fight was like "we didn't speak for 2 hours and then we cried." Always so proud of my happily married band. And now the statement, so cold and careless, after 23 years of being that close, shame on them. I remember when Jay left, and we happened to be seeing Gary and Ian that very day at a jazz festival, HQ wasn't saying anything so that was our primary source of information, it was a huge mess. And I asked Ian, just to make sure, there wasn't a falling out, was there, are you all okay? And he looked at me really blankly for a moment like that wasn't even an option. And that was Jay. Not that he was less important, but he hadn't been in the band for 20 years.
