This has grown on me massively today Yup! It's a banger and a grower. Lyrics are so damn good and the vibe is perfect. Also, if you play this and "Psycho" back to back on YouTube (hopefully without an ad in the middle) it's quite the experience 🙂

Aye, the old Serge vibrato was creeping in a moment there. To be fair, his voice has been stronger each tour since perhaps West Ryder time. Check out some debut or Empire bootlegs and you'll see.

I'm pretty underwhelmed by the songs so far. Put Your Life On It is probably my favourite.

Oh WOW. Definitely the best album opener they've had yet, in my humble opinion. Seems they are responding quite vehemently to the critics' complaint about the lack of intelligent lyrics on the last album. Listened to Ill Ray like 10 times already simply because those lyrics are goddamn INCREDIBLE. This is quite simply one of the greatest songs they've ever done. I hear influences from every song I adore by them in their back catalog. Such a lovely hodge podge! Jeez! Give it a rest! I know you're excited about a new album, but to say it's better than Club Foot, Empire, Underdog and Shiva/Bumblebee is just bizarre. Ill Ray sounds very early-stage Arctic Monkeys to me. Have to say after hearing the first 3 songs I'm feeling very deflated about the direction the band's going in. Don't even think hearing a studio version of PYLOI will salvage this IMO. You've made it very clear what you think of the new songs, but please let other people have their excitement without sh*tting all over it.

This track is an interesting fusion between good old Kasabian and early (first 2 albums) Arctic Monkeys. The strange thing it works well when it probably shouldn't.

I love this, the stomping swagger makes it sound like it could fit right into Empire. It's going to be amazing live.

I love it. Maybe I like it even more than CK. But I need to hear it live. Tim hinted yesterday that they might play it in London, but he also told me 2.5 years ago that they're going to play Doomsday soon. Incidentally Ill Ray kind of reminds me of Doomsday.

More like what Doomsday could've been. But yea I get that vibe too. Also the song Velociraptor! and a fair bit of Vlad. Those 3 seem to be the biggest influences. But I swear if you listen closely, you can hear the ghosts of nearly every banger they've done. The lads did their homework on themselves! 😂

Woke up this morning with that song in my head, no idea where that came from, as I normally don't dream about music, but that was sweet! I have to admit at first I was a bit underwhelmed as well with the songs we've heard so far, until that one and until listening to them during the live stream. Now that album cannot come soon enough, to hear the studio versions, the unknown songs and of course the overall album flow. But this one already established itself as a big favorite.
