Some critics definitely don't listen to the album. When 48:13 came out, several reviews were still quoting the horse meat line as undeniable proof that the album is crap and the band is not to be taken seriously, when that lyric only ever appeared on a demo version and nowhere on the finished record. They do the same now.Judging from the cover.

I've read a few reviews about the album by now.I really can't understand the hate in some of them.I mean, real hate. It's like they were already made their minds about it before it was released and didn't gave it a chance. It makes so angry sometimes that critics are so hard on them while at the same time can easily hype every average indie band who makes generic rock music.I guess for some people is cool to hate them. I totally agree with you, I read a french review and it was really mean. The author said the album was a purge, full of repetitions and ponderous, worse than the previous one and better than the next one… He added Serge thinks he won the Goncourt prize and Tom the Nobel Peace Prize. I mean, I don’t know if they really listen to the album as I have to hear it a lot of times to really appreciate all the songs. I think they decided it was shit before listening to it.

I'm still waiting for the Greek ones. There was a really hard review about 48:13 on the most well known rock site here back in 2014. I'm curious about this time.Sadly,if you aren't a hairy metalhead you hardly receive a decent review from this site. Plus,as you said in your last lines, you had to hear it lots of times. They don't have to post reviews that soon. Just to listen the album more carefully.

Finally got a great pair of headphones for the first time in several years! With these new headphones has come a complete reevaluation of everything Kasabian. Being able to actually hear everything in the music has given me a newfound appreciation for West Ryder and made me realize the production on Velociraptor! is nowhere near as good as I thought it was. Album ranks: 1) For Crying Out Loud 2) West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum 3) Kasabian 4) Velociraptor! 5) Empire 6) 48:13

What does everyone think of the "bonus" they released on Soundcloud? Almost like a coda to "Psycho". Would've been a great outro for the track!

I love this album ,not one track is skipped and that hasn't happened since Empire.I know I moan bout the length of their sets but I just want to hear more of their awesomeness and with this album I know they won't play some tracks and it saddens me as the whole album has tracks that don't deserve to be left out .

You're not the only one who moans about the length of their sets. I've thought for a while that they should be playing for longer and including more songs. I've seen Biffy Clyro a couple times and they play around 24 songs.
