Some signed first album releases for £10,000 on ebay  The link should work, I just checked again. Sorry, the link works on my phone, but not on my laptop, there must be something wrong...again... This sale is absolutely crazy! What is the release on picture #2? Reason Is Treason Japanese promo it's so unreasonable that it's funny. |

Definitely, and the Press Kit CD-Rom went for more than £50, which is a bit too much too! And, btw, I saw this as I am also following some things from this seller...I hope I am not going to compete with you  ! |

I got the media kit for €1.50 a few years ago. It's not normally that cheap of course, but £50 still seems excessive. Ovary Stripe was much less too. I usually find it's worth waiting until they show up cheap somewhere.
My most wanted is still the numbered West Ryder promo and sampler, and I wouldn't mind the 48:13 instrumentals - if they exist at all. This album was lacking so much, release wise, it wouldn't surprise me if they never put them out. At least with Velociraptor they had some of the instrumentals on the promo singles.

I've been watching all the auctions as well from that same seller Ovary Stripe and the press kit definitely went way above their normal value. (Last one to sell on Discogs went for £10, at the time I remember thinking should I grab another to go with my other 2, but passed on it in the end) The press kit is available to buy online for £25 right now, less than half the Ebay price and still way above what I paid for mine. There seems to be 2 people very keen on a lot of those auctions (I've been watching the bidding patterns and taking note of the ID's) I've got my eye on a few items and will be jumping in when the time is right to steal them |

I think a lot of people might not be aware there are other places besides Ebay where you can get things, like Discogs or eil.com or even Amazon Marketplace. So when something shows up on Ebay for the first time in years everyone panics. Amazon is really great because shipping usually stays the same no matter where it comes from, I got quite a few cheap Japanese ones from there.

What I would like to add is that if anyone is considering a Kasabian purchase and needs any advice just ask in here.
I think between the collectors on this board I'm pretty sure we could point people to other resources where items can be bought for much cheaper rather than see people overpaying on Ebay items.

I got my Media / Press kit on Discogs last year for €6, so yes sometimes it is wise to search different sources.
But I is also true that you never know when an item is going to show up, and there are some releases you only see once a year...so I understand that some people do not want to miss them. But some ebay prices are just nonsense.
You can also find some interesting things on Actionrecords, they do sometimes have some rarities.
I recently found a Velociraptor promo release that I do not find on Discogs, and I will need your expertise @crazyhorse69 when I receive it to tell me what this is.

(puts it on his wants list immediately) I've never seen a one, but I have similar promos from other Kasabian releases like this and I'd say this is definitely the Australian promo version of the album. You get maybe 2 or 3 pop up on Ebay over time, but very scarce and a very good find |
