I'm one of the Record store day nutters queuing up from 4.15 am ,but least I got everything that I wanted this year and hoping that next year Kasabian might actually release The video games one . I do try and get the signed vinyls money permitting and would really love the original Biffy albums and the OR box set but can't justify paying over £100 anymore. And the thing with playing the vinyl ,young cats and turntables don't mix so it's very rare any gets played at the moment.

I think my favourite vinyl I own is the 10" Reason Is Treason Single. I really love the effect of the stencil packaging. I'd love to go stenciling around Sydney with it, but a) I'm scared I'll get arrested and b) I don't want to ruin the stencil... lol

I must admit, I love the vinyl.
I don't buy any other format these days, the general rule is, if it ain't on vinyl it doesn't get bought.
There isn't a day goes by where I don't find myself looking at something or other to buy for my collection. The great thing about it is, I always play the stuff I buy as well, it doesn't sit in it's selophane on a shelf somewhere gathering dust.
Me and my missus recently did a "Vinyl Cup" where we pulled out 32 vinyl from our collection, pulled all the names out of a hat and created a knockout competition where we pitched 2 albums against eatch other every week, the winner going through to the next round. It's the final this weekend and such is the randomness of the selections and music that has been played the final will be contested by Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger V Rumours - Fleetwood Mac, very exciting stuff.
Most recent vinyl purchases have been:
The new Suede Vinyl Collection Dire Straits Vinyl Collection We Are Scientists - Business Casual EP 10" Anna Calvi - One Breath Deluxe Autographed Version Neil Diamond - Hot August Night Live album Kings Of Leon - Mechanical Bull - Ltd Coloured Vinyl Version Radiohead - OK Computer - Original UK Pressing
I own all the Kasabian Vinyl (just in case you were wondering), all original's promo's etc (including multiples of some as well)
And a huge Record Store Day Fan - lovel those early 4.00am starts every year.
Did I hear someone mention all those Ltd Black Friday releases just around the corner.........
I think i've ranted enough for a first post, plenty for you all to read.

It's probably nearly impossible to pick out one favorite from my collection, but some some of the one's I consider special purchases for one reason or another are listed below: Atoms For Peace – Judge Jury And Executioner - Ltd edition to 100 only copies 12", hand screen printed and available exclusively for 1 day only from Sonic Boom Records in Seattle - I had to beg them to ship to the UK as they only shipped domestically, they obliged and meant I could be the owner of one of these very special records. Dead Weather - Cut Like A Buffalo - Tri Colour 7" vinyl - I received this when I placed an order for another Dead weather vinyl from their online store, they throw them into random orders and the chances of getting these are near impossible, I felt very lucky to have received one of these. I'm very fond of all my Third Man Records vault purchases, they're all a bit special in one way or another, I have the whole series so far and have no thoughts of giving up on this series any time soon. Foo Fighters - Wasting Light - Nothing particularly special about the vinyl itself in terms of being limited, but the actual record itself is one of the best sounding vinyl's i've ever heard, don't know how this was mastered but i've yet to play a record that come close to this in terms of quality. Queens of the stone age - Like Clockwork Deluxe Version - Wow this is out and out one of the best quality packaged vinyl I own, they've really done a great job on this and the music is pretty special as well, all in all very impressive. Maximo Park - Graffiti - Billingham Records first issue 7" Red Vinyl. One of my favourite bands and this was the last vinyl I needed to complete my collection last year, I was patient and managed to grab one in the end, but what made it even more special was that I got the band to sign it for me when watching an Instore performance earlier this year in my local City - Paul Smith even signed a comment on the record along with his signature which read "Nice Work". David Bowie - The Next Day - The limited edition Red Paul Smith version - super excited to get this, just found out about it by pure chance and what was even better was that Paul Smith signed the first 80 copies, and yes you guessed it one of the signed one's found it's way into my collection, it's an absolute beauty. As you can see from above a lot of very special records, but to be honest I could fill 10 pages and over writing about many many more, it's just so hard to pick out that absolute favourite one. Anyone else like to talk about their special vinyls (i'm sure most of you have a good story to tell)

Wow Atoms for Peace story sounds amazing and how lucky you were to get Cut Like a Buffalo if it was a totally random thing!
My collection is not as extensive as yours, although I still have a big collection at my parents, collected in Soviet times when most of the western music was prohibited and getting a rare vinyl on a black market was such a big deal. Some special ones were released in 86-87, after perestroyka, called 'archive of popular music', that's where i got my first zeppelin, stones, deep purple records. From Kasabian vinyls, paradise 6 and 7 are very special, I bought paradise 6 white label relatively recently and it was very very exciting because for a long time i've had no idea that it existed. I love paradise 2 in misprinted flag, and speaking of misprints, first batch of Velociraptor is pretty special too.
2 favourite (non-Kasabian) vinyls which are often on my record player are the reissues of Dark Side of the Moon (because it really sounds incredible) and Fat of The Land (extra special because my son bought it with his pocket money he'd been saving)

It's sounds like your collection has a lot of good history to it, I like it, and you've got some great classics there.
I agree with your opinion on paradise 6 and 7, and the mistprinted paradise 2 flag, they're all special items in the Kasabian collection and very hard to come by now, it's great that you've got them all.
I've been tempted with the Dark Side of The Moon re-issue, it's on my list to grab when things get a bit quiet (which is normally never), now that you've mentioned the quality of the sound I might just bump that up my list for next month, I absolutely love the album, always have done, it needs to find a way into my collection.
Any record that kids buy out of their own money for there mams/dads is always going to be special, that's a fantastic album as well, he's got good taste, for me it's my favourite of all the Prodigy albums (I don't own on vinyl yet though). I look forward to when my little boy buys his dad a record out of his pocket money (he's only 4 now, so maybe a little while longer yet)

I can remember my first vinyl and I'm really going to show my age now wait for it Pinky and perky and it was a 33 rpm so when it was on 45 it sounded even well perkier.I loved that old record player ,putting some 45's on and not even having to get up every 3 minutes to change it.But the first serious one was The Cars Drive.,and I loved my brothers jilted John (Gordon is a moron).Im trying to think which one means a lot to me and it's probably 7 and the Ragged Tiger Duran Duran as it holds a lot of memories for me about my dad as I can still see him now doing his silly dance to wild boys whilst he was wearing his cap with a rolly hanging out of his mouth.Lol. I was looking at the Black Friday are the releases more for the american market also on Banquet they are listing some special releases for Virgin and I've got my eye on The verve Bittersweet symphony. Hope no one minded me being light hearted but what was your first vinyl and own up even if it was a childhood one?

Another great vinyl story told from the heart, every record has a great story.
Black Friday releases will be mainly aimed at the US market once again but just like last year I expect the uk stores to stock them. I grabbed all mine from Resident records, they pretty much got them all in and sent out a tweet with a link to them when they had them in stock. I'll be trying with them again for this years releases.
I've seen those Virgin releases, quite a few around and like yourself the verve one is a record that interests me, i'll probably grab that as well.
First vinyl was given to me, it was Adam and The Ants Prince Charming LP, and Car Trouble 7" (I still have them) I genuinely struggle to think of the first one I bought with my own cash, I remember buying Like A Prayer 12" Single by Madonna when I found a fiver on the ground whilst doing my paperound one night, it's possibly that, but not 100% certain.

First records are so special because except the actual songs they hold so many memories, like you say Ang1. I'm not sure which one was my first record bought my own cash (my parents bought lots of records, they were all sort of for everybody to listen to) - but it's either A Hard Day's Night or this (my first and last proper pop band). @crazyhorse69, if you love Dark Side then you won't regret buying it, it's 180g vinyl, and i really think it does sound very different, especially Brain Damage. And it comes with posters and stickers!

Thanks Crazyhorse ,I got the last few RSD from Resident so will keep an eye out to see what other titles will get released .The cash is a bit lacking so I will have to be tough with myself and might just go with the Virgin stuff but definitely going for The Verve.

Thanks ,i will be checking it out now and again.Im going to Banquet tomorrow to pick up The Family Rain I ordered weeks ago and will have to steer myself clear of the Virgin stuff ,cause if I see that Verve single I would find it very hard to resist it.Im so behind in buying music at the moment .I still haven't got AM yet and I'm wanting Arcade Fires new one,and Foals cd/dvd
