On a lighter note, if they want a new singer, maybe this is finally the time for Ben Kealey’s operatic voice to shine! Thank you for this! I haven’t laughed this much for a week. Maybe in a year or two we get Kasabian’s vampire opera DVD and finally also Tom’s soul record. Haha, thank you too, “vampire opera DVD” made me laugh out loud!

Tom did say "I'll be seeing you very soon" so I wonder if this means more concrete solo album plans.
I just genuinely can't see Kasabian being over. It doesn't make sense to me. I was sure they'd continue until they were 94 and one of them dropped dead in the middle of the LSF singalong.

I can totally picture that. Them, going wild even with their walking sticks and somebody forgetting his cardiac medication before they come on stage

It's been more than a month and I am still not sure what I want, do I want them to carry on? Break up? Recruit another singer? I am totally at a lost here.

I don't know how they could possibly pull that off. I think the best option is to do something with Serge as the frontman, but under another name, and then see if they want to get back together in a few years. Or whenever. The thought that they'll never be together again is too sad, I have to hold on to that for now.

Someone on Tumblr mentioned that Serge recently took a reference to Kasabian out of his Insta bio. But that might not mean anything, SLP was never Kasabian anyway and the bio didn't sound like it was written by him either. Twitter and Facebook are unchanged.

So as lunatic pointed out in the other thread, they have deleted their statements about Tom everywhere except on Twitter. Now I'm trying not to read too much into it, but of course I am. Maybe they didn't want it to distract from the post about Rick. It's literally their first post since. Maybe nobody has even logged in since July and someone was like oh, that's still there. That's the first thing people see when they look for Kasabian. Begone. Maybe they have privately moved on since, as in they're on good terms with Tom and things are somewhat okay? And they just didn't want so much negativity on there anymore? I believe both statements were made while still in a very emotional state while also trying to cover their arses. Maybe progress has been made. I mean it's not like deleting it (in some but not all places) makes it unhappen, the facts are out there, everyone knows, it's nothing they can just vanish if they wanted to. In the unlikely event that they actually decided to get back together, I don't even know how I'd feel about that. To begin with it wouldn't be a good look to be all "we can't work with someone who does that" and then change their minds a few months later. And most of all I want everyone to be as healthy and safe as possible. I'm not sure if getting back together right away (if they even want to) would be a good idea. There's also the fact that a ton of people were really supportive towards Tom, even after we knew what he did. There was no way for them to predict which way that would go, so they first distanced themselves on principle. Which I do appreciate. But now they've seen that they weren't completely cancelled? Maybe they don't feel like it's necessary to keep those posts up. Anyway. As usual I have a lot of feelings.

It's been almost 10 months and we are still none the wiser regarding their plans. Are they gonna really make a go for it alone without Tom? Or maybe even get a new singer? That'd be ballsy as hell. Maybe pull a Beady Eye? Honestly I have no idea. Seems no one else does either.

Maybe pull a Beady Eye? Honestly I have no idea. Seems no one else does either. They have the "advantage" of the pandemic right now, they don't have to make any decisions because we're still pretty far away from gigs and things like that. They're probably taking their time with any kind of decision. It's also their first real long break since 2004, maybe they're making the most of it. I would like the Beady Eye approach. Serge would be a good frontman. Just not the frontman of Kasabian, if that makes sense. I'm genuinely excited about Tom's solo record as well. Of course I'd rather have them all together but I also think a lot more time has to pass for that to happen.

I think Kasabian is over. Could be wrong but that's what my guts tells me.

Once again I get it exactly wrong
Whilst I’m on a winning streak, there definitely won’t be a new album released this year, and if there is it’ll be absolute shit

To be honest I wouldn't mind something between SLP and Kasabian Sergesongs like Take Aim

I just thought what if this whole era flops big time. Would they call it a day as Kasabian? Or are they going to continue no matter what? 90% of the comments on anything they post is you-know-what. That's probably a very loud minority and doesn't translate into loads of real people who are seriously boycotting them. But there are also people who are kind of in the middle, like me, I'm absolutely not one of the "bring back Tom" crowd, but I also feel like this current Kasabian has not a lot in common with the band I fell so passionately in love with 13 years ago. And it's not just because of Tom. I was prepared for them to sound like Kasabian without Tom. They don't. I'm always going to listen to them and I'm going to support whatever they do, just probably not to the extent I have been, going to 10 gigs a year and buying 12 different versions of each album.
They're probably going to be just fine and I'm worrying over nothing. What else would they do, do they have hobbies
