Deffo trying for one of these. I'm not massively keen on the new single, but love Favourites, and I'm quite excited for the tour overall. Even if I don't love all the music, I like that Serge is doing something different.

A week late, some impressions from the last week's gig:
Really impressed by the show's visuals, there was a proper theme and narrative almost, it was very tight and complete, and I can see why Kasabian songs wouldn't work at all (although I went hoping for a few). Loved the shadows, looked like film noir; and all screens. I thought there are lots of The Wall/political references which was very cool; and a few things reminded me of the gorgeous screens of the West Ryder tour.
Also his voice was amazing, really carried off all the songs beautifully and it was unusual to see him without Tom. I thought it's brave of him to be practically alone on the stage, with rest of the band behind the mesh screens. His band is Tim, Chris (very short hair!), DJ Dan (who also played a very nice set before the gig, all the pre-Kasabian gig usuals), and Jay Sharrock who was quite amazing, especially in the end when he was playing standing up, using sort of plates tied around his waste.
It was great to see that it wasn't just Serge minus Kasabian, but there was a completely different quality about it, different from Kasabian, altough he couldn't resist a little acapella singing + singalong in the end, in a true Tom-style. In short, it was great but still shame about cancellations, and even more so about not communicating it.
