I just found out that Raconteurs are releasing a new album next year. What new albums are you looking forward to in 2019? Or, if you're looking at this thread sometime in the future, what are/were your favourite albums of the year?

Balthazar Rammstein Sleaford Mods Tame Impala? hope so and Raconteurs, yeah. I like the new tracks.
Might turn out a nice year. Festival lineups are not really exciting so far. Hoping for some surprising announcements regarding releases/tours.

Late for the party.
'Defo' category: Foals are going to hit me (and all of us) twice this year Balthazar (don't need to explain how much I love this bunch but I didn't like the singles (except for titled track) and that's suspicious) Tame Impala Pond City Calm Down (my last year's discovery) The Cinematic Orchestra (the single with Roots Manuva is just stunning)
'If we are lucky enough' category: Placebo (they posted a photo that they are in the studio). the National IDLES third one shame's second one

As of right now The National have gigs announced until mid-August, an album needs to be written and recorded, I don't think it'll be this year. They usually have ~3 years between albums.

But there were some IG stories from their studio plus one of the Dessners posted a photo with lyrics for Rylan. That might be a hint that they are finally bringing this song to the studio. Also, closer to the end of the Sleep Well Beast tour they performed some new songs, like Quiet Light and Light Years. Or I won't mind at all if they just release a b-side collection. I'm sure they have enough interesting leftovers to work on after HV, TWFM and SWB sessions. Of course this band is super thoughtful of their actions and releases and everything must be perfect (can compare them to Radiohead because of that attitude), but these are just my thoughts.

I'm so happy to be wrong This is just amazing. Can't be happier with the announcement. 16 songs! Loving the first single as well as the album trailer with Rylan. It sounds just like the version they did for KEXP and it can't be better. I'm going to try and get the tickets for the Warsaw date
