I haven’t seen this article but am pleased things are at least being talked about. My husband is reluctant to see them again anytime soon as he says it is the ‘same thing’. Obviously new tunes from the current album now but essentially a lot of it is the same so I can see his point to a certain extent. We’ve seen them 7 times and the last few times have been a bit predictable. I posted on here a while ago that I would love them to finish with something other than Fire. They have so many tunes and do covers so so well - the potential to change things is definitely there 💕

This right now is only what always happens: the arena gigs get a better variety of songs. Always have, always will, because they still don't understand that ~hardcore fans who appreciate the rarities~ are not just in London but literally all over the world.

I think summer album releases are kinda screwing up their concert sets. They plan all these great festival gigs over the summer without having time to analyze what songs (that aren't singles) the fans are dying to hear/see performed. Myself and many others on this forum were convinced "Wasted" would make the rounds on the summer festival circuit this year but it wasn't until after the summer season that "Wasted" was added to the set list. A song like AYLFA seemed destined for the summer festival circuit as well, but lo and behold, it has yet to make its live debut. Turn back the clock to fall/winter of 2011 when Velociraptor! came out and nearly every song on that album (except for "Acid Turkish Bath") got played at different shows in a 3 month span. By the time summer 2012 rolled around, they knew which songs were crowd pleasers and which ones weren't. This time around (and back when 48:13 came out) they didn't get much chance to play around with the new material and see what works and what doesn't because about a month after the album was released, they started touring the festival circuit. Now the songs they played off those albums are pretty much locked into the set and the chances of hearing songs like "Good Fight" or "Sixteen Blocks" are looking slim to none. Ideally with album 7 they release it in the fall or winter so they can have the opportunity to experiment with their new tunes and gauge the fan reaction. I do have a feeling AYLFA might make the rounds next summer but other than that I have the sad feeling we've heard all they'll ever play off of FCOL. And I've basically given up hope of them ever performing "Acid Turkish Bath" or "Explodes"

It's a good point though, I hadn't thought of that. It might be the label pushing for the summer releases. I don't have any recent info, but back in the day it was implied that the label made them sit on West Ryder for 6 months so Fire could be a summer hit.

It’s sad - they have some great tracks and covers which are almost ‘forgotten’ - I was watching YouTube today and ‘Lets roll just like we used to’ cane on from Reading 2012 - I miss tunes like that and wish they would make a return x

I was obsessed with it around 2012-2013. For me, this song features one of the most brilliant Tom's vocal performances ever.

I’m watching the DVD for London O2 from 15/12/2011. Wish they would bring back some of the old tunes - ID and I hear voices sound amazing!

You know how you sometimes walk into a room and forgot what you were doing? This happens to Kasabian when they leave Italy and forget all their good songs.

A Kasabian tour with songs by request could be an interesting choice, but only if people's voting goes to rare played songs. Not like Metallica, when fans had the chance to choose ANY rarity or least played song they wanted and still voting for Nothing else matters..

Not like Metallica, when fans had the chance to choose ANY rarity or least played song they wanted and still voting for Nothing else matters.. That's exactly what I think would happen.

I just think the setlists have become a bit stale. They are such a great live band and i constantly listen to their shows. they could easily throw in other songs like stuntman, fast fuse, reason is treason and processed beats. also would love where did all the love go. I think shoot the runner has been over played as well.

I think shoot the runner has been over played as well. Exactly, it doesn't have to be 5 rare b-sides every night, I think everyone knows that's not realistic. But just mix it up a bit more. There are songs they used to play all the time, like PB, and now it's a treat to hear them. No pun intended.
