What are some of your unpopular Kasabian opinions? Music related or not.

Tom's strawberry jacket from Glastonbury 7 years ago is overrated. It wasn't even the best jacket in that gig.

That IS controversial haha! YES. Tom came off as trying too much. Serge just came off as effortlessly cool. Seriously, is it possible to be cooler than that?

I think he really loves that jacket but tried to downplay it a bit like "oh what was I thinking... the kind of thing you can only wear at Glasto..." but then he wore it all year, I've got pictures.
I miss them wearing interesting things. Tom has been trying a bit, the Utrecht shirt, that pink Alexander McQueen thing, but obviously Serge wore the same outfit for two years. It's such a waste because they're the types who can wear weird things and make it work.

I guess this will be a really unpopular one because everyone loves Praise You - but I always thought You Got the Love is a much better intro for LSF. I think it suits that euphoric, almost religious tone of that song as a set closer. And generally LSF was much better before 2011 (before they moved it around, made it sort of softer and Serge took over the singalong).

Haven't posted in ages but couldn't resist logging in for a pop at Stuntman. They didn't capture it's 2005 glory in the studio whatsoever.
In addition, they've only performed it live once or twice from 2006 on to a level that's given me the same rush from the 2005 versions.
Also, I'm still a little put out that The Doberman took it's "the". Should have been The Stuntman and just "Doberman" on the back of Empire!

I sort of (a bit reluctantly) agree with you on Stuntman. 2005 versions are amazing. I mean it's always great live, but there is some really exciting quality to the earlier ones - the album version vocals and drums are a bit too gentle. I could imagine it sounding very different if it had a 48:13-style production. Although I loved it in the raptor era too with the Organ Donor (Doner, as I've seen it on a setlist ).

They shouldn't play covers as they have plenty of their own material which they've never played live.

I think Praise You overstayed its welcome, it's time to drop it.

Here is a very controversial one: ID should be dropped from the setlists and it overstayed in the setlists by at least 5 years. It certainly shouldn't have been a staple during the Velociraptor! tour.

It certainly shouldn't have been a staple during the Velociraptor! tour. Yeah you're right about the recency bias. Also more people must have seen it with Praise You and everyone prefers the things they're seen themselves. About ID - I sort of agree with you. I do love that song, it's gorgeous live but they could have played some other debut album songs instead once in a while - Butcher Blues, Ovary Stripe, all the lost songs of Empire and West Ryder - Secret Alphabets, By My Side... I really hope they'll rotate more during the next tour and/or make the setlist longer, it's going to be a nightmare to choose from 6 albums.

I've said for ages that their setlist should be longer. 24 songs would be good as that would be average of four per album especially as they'll obviously play a large portion of new album once it's released.
