Yesterday I (legally and paid!) downloaded Jeff Wootton's "The way the light" and really like it. I think it sounds a bit shoegazey, at least parts of it remind me of Ride or My bloody Valentine, as far as I know them. Oh I didn't know it's out already. I really liked his set when he supported Kasabian in Edinburgh, I should give it a listen.

You seen that? soundcloud.com/jeffwoottonSong 1 is some kind of remix, with Rap. Well, if you like it ... Not my cup of tea, but the music beneath is nice. "The eternal"* and "The end"* are from the album. The other tracks are apparently from an older session, they are instrumental. And nice as well! I got it via amazon, .de in my case. Just the titles borrowed, they sound nothing like either Joy Division or Doors.

I've just listened to the first track only - the remixy thing and really liked it . Listened to the album a bit too yesterday, it was very different from what I remembered from Edinburgh, where the tracks were more guitar and blues based. But lovely and a bit hypnotic.

I'm liking Richard Ashcroft's new album. Only listened to it once and it was good.

New Biffy Clyro album is superb. Can't wait to hear a good few of the tracks live but Howl is my favourite.

I can't be the only one who's slightly curious to hear the new U2 album that's probably coming out later this year, can I?

I usually play my favourite albums of the year while I decorate the Christmas tree, but this year I felt pretty meh about music in general. The Rolling Stones album was great, and King Creosote, but apart from that I couldn't think of anything I got excited about.

Loved the Tricky album, Rondo Brothers, about half of the Kendrick Lamar, and Christine and the Queens - Chaleur Humaine this year.
But 2017 promises to be bigger and better with new Kasabian, but also Temples, The National, First Aid Kit, possibly John Grant, New Candys, maybe even some new Brendan Benson that I feel like I've been waiting forever for - so much music I'm looking forward to. Bring it on.

And just yesterday I finally bought Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' "Skeleton tree". So sad, and so beautiful!
