What are your favourite quotes from Kasabian (from interviews, during gigs, to each other, to you...)?
I posted this quote from Tom talking about Empire on tumblr earlier because it's the album's 9th birthday today and thought it's one of my favourite things Tom has said. I love how they talk about the albums as real living things.
I can say we’re pregnant, and it’s a girl. We had a scan the other week, and it looks very healthy. We’ve just sent one boy out into the world and clothed him and fed him, and now we’ve got this nasty little girl on the way. She’s half-vampire and she’s got razor-sharp teeth. She’s gonna be a nasty little girl but a healthy one.

Hahaha I know what that is. But I couldn't possibly share that. The one I mentioned in the survey: "Don't regret what you should have done, only what you did. If you do regret, disregard and move on." I have the manifesto on my wall. As for during gigs, the breast milk interlude at Gurten cracks me up everytime.

Tom had quite a few gems during Hurricane 2011. Also, can't look beyond Tom branding 1D as five little dicks.

Tom had quite a few gems during Hurricane 2011. He thought he was in Hamburg because their hotel was in Hamburg, somehow he didn't notice the hour-long drive in between. It was 5% less awkward for me because I'm actually from Hamburg, so I just pretended we were all there, haha. Was it there when he said "The Beatles had sex in your city" or was that another gig?

Yep, it was there when he said the beatles line. Still makes me lol whenever I watch the gig.

The most hilarious quotes are always from Tom.Like the one with Madonna and his old gym teacher. That's one of my all time favourites.

Tom was a quote machine during the debut era.
He certainly mellowed since then.

They were slagging off One Direction and Clean Bandit in 2015, I don't think we can pinpoint a correlation there. They're not 20 anymore, and I guess they became so big that they don't need to insult other bands to get attention. Sometimes people grow up regardless of reproduction. They're still honest if they're asked directly.

I remember reading an interview where Tom said that they said all that stuff as a way to attract attention when they first came, they felt the need to comment about everything that's around them.
And regarding Tom becoming a father, the man himself said that it made him practically stop parting when at home.

I get your point about people growing up without being parents. There are many more parameters in life that can make a person more mature. Maybe is a combination of things.I also think in earlier years it had to be the ''Gallagher influence''(the brothers remind me so much of Statler And Waldorf)that made them feel the need to talk more about other bands.

May I ask?Do you remember which interview was that?Because I don't remember that comment.Very sincere response from Tom.

They're still honest if they're asked directly. Well, if i may share my opinion about that, otherwise just ignore me;)) I do not think they were insulting other bands to get attention. I would also gladly insult many bands or so called musicians. Not to get attention, but just because they are extremely irritating. I almost don't watch TV, don't follow popular media, almost no facebook and twittter, and still i get confronted with people (celebrities) who i would rather never hear about. Especially when those celebrities do anything to keep media attention on them. I am trying to avoid and ignore them, but still they keep jumping in my face. Do not know about other people, but to me it is slightly irritating. So if i get a chance, i would gladly insult them with words you have never even heard. Even more - i believe the world would be better off without those certain "celebrities". Especially when "celebrities" call themselves musicians. It might be harsh, but this is what i think. I do get your point as well. People like me are not followed by millions, so i can say what i want. But when you are a kind of celebrity yourself (even if you do not want to be one), you should probably be careful in what you say not to bring people on wrong ideas. So, there i said it!

If anyone wants to watch the On Tape interview from 2011, Serge is asked why they don't talk about other bands as much anymore and says because there's no one worth the effort. Maybe we can return to the original purpose of the thread, feel free to make another one for this discussion though.
