Appreciation thread for this beauty because it's neglected anyway. When Velociraptor came out, I thought this will be one of the strongest songs live, but I haven't lost hope, I'm still waiting.
There is this track, Turkish Bath by Don Ellis, which sounds very similar to the song. I'm pretty sure I've heard Ian mentioning Don Ellis and assume they would know it. I really like it, it's so hypnotic.

Oh dear, how was there no thread for this yet? I feel like we talk about it so much.
I think it's one of the best songs they have released so far. So beautiful. The strings. The ending. The last 30 seconds.

It's definitely one of my favorite tracks off Velociraptor!, it's really beautiful. It took me a while to really appreciate it, but now it is, together with "Take aim", my favorite Serge sung song. (Is that even English?  ) |

That sounds so lovely  I know highroyds, I spent some time looking for it too before I realised there is no thread. I wish we'd have threads for every song at some point. Everybody should make a thread for their favourite songs. |

Great song, also I guess the Band have no idea how to play it and that's why it hasn't debuted yet.

We know they've been rehearsing it, but apparently they're not happy with it yet. Or maybe there's another reason, nobody knows. Serge said something in the early Velociraptor days about a song they want to play but they'd have to drag a string section everywhere, so they're still trying to figure out how to do it. I always assumed he was talking about Acid Turkish Bath. Although they did have the string section eventually. Maybe it wasn't the right time. I think we'll get it eventually.
