Does Ben teasering some things on instagram? Can't attach the screenshot unfortunately I think he's just referring to the fact that he hasn't posted anything for ages? And Instagram posts embed automatically, you only have to paste the url and it will show up with the picture and all. Most of the time anyway, sometimes it can be a bit glitchy. http://instagr.am/p/BEX2GjygR7n

www.radiox.co.uk/artists/kasabian/interviews/kasabians-serge-want-design-leicester-city-fc-kit/#02htPouIxUTQuwbV.97Talking about his current laid back style and "Mario Ballotelli vibe," Pizzorno said: "I'm sort of anti-band at the moment mate. I don't want to look like I'm in a band. I'm sick and tired of it. "I've done it. I've invented everything. I'm moving on to some other business. I can't decide what it is yet." The Midlands man joked that he might even cut his hair and "dye it blond, or something." Asked about the progress of new music and whether a new album is completed, the Fire star said: "No. I'm just doing a bit of mooching about at the moment. I've got a little studio at home, and I'm always in there escaping from reality". However, when it came to the progress of his beloved Leicester City, and whether they could win the premier league, he said: "I can't even talk about it. It's dominating every thing I do. "It's actually too big for me to comprehend." WOW. THIS YEAR MIGHT BE A WASTE. SMH. CRIES IN DISAPPOINTMENT.

They've been posting pictures from the studio, they wouldn't do that and intentionally mislead the fans if they weren't recording. And we know he has recorded something, it's been confirmed, we know the band has been in the studio in London, Ben specifically mentioned the new album and deleted the picture. Something is happening somewhere. Ian said they are taking it slow, maybe they're actually taking it slow. Less than a year between the end of each tour and the next album has been amazing, but it's an exception, most bands take much longer. While this doesn't make me feel very optimistic, it's not like he said "I want to take at least a 5 year break and not think about Kasabian at all, I don't know when we'll be back." If he's in the studio he's probably doing more than taking dramatic backlit selfies once a week.
It's also possible that they're further along than they're letting on, but they want to finish the album in their own time and not get hassled about it by the press. So he's keeping it vague and says things like this (he used the exact same words "mooching about" in an interview in January, it's like the go-to non-committal answer at the moment) and once they're ready to be asked dumb questions about it they'll say it's almost finished, now the NME can come and patronise us and Q can ask if changing nappies has influenced the songwriting.

Here is pretty much all he said about the album in the Radio X interview: “I’m mooching about. I’ve got a little studio at home so I’m always in there, just escaping from reality …I hate phones, I can’t stand them but the one thing that I use is the voice recorder. The problem is I’ve just got thousands to sieve through and most of it is complete and utter nonsense. It’s me in the middle of the night, recording like a melody, and then going in the next day and it’s just like a load of noise - oh, it’s terrible!”
It's from this article, which also mentions that he's going to play in Soccer Aid 2016 if he sorts out his back injury. I lost connection for a bit when they were talking about it and missed that part, but I thought they were talking about the 2012 Soccer Aid. I checked and he's not in the team announced so far, but who knows, he might still be added. Did anyone else listen to the interview?

Meh, We know they are recording. At this point I think hearing from Tom could help us know more about how advanced the recording process is, if he began to sing it already then they should be pretty deep into it. Also, didn't they upload a picture of Serge writing lyrics? If he is then Instrumentals should be nearly done. Of course this could be a big ruse and the boys will debut a new song when Leicester City celebrate their Premier League title, which is pretty much inventible at this point. Basically we have to wait and see now.

Some of that terrible stuff could be very interesting. Maybe it would be a good idea to just publish it as a side project or something, like many artists do. And i think Serge will be surprised how many people are going to like it. But... it is his decision in the end.

Safe to say the album is close, isn't it?

Safe to say the album is close, isn't it? Having seen Gary and Ian at a gig on Wednesday and having a chat, I don't think so. Unfortunately it looks like there is nothing much going on with the album, Serge is still 'mooching about' like he keeps on saying, and both Gary and Ian are busy doing their own little things. But obviously it's coming at some point, but maybe not this year. I'd think this gig is just a one off.

I'd think it's unlikely but what a lovely treat that would be.

Serge told Newsbeat that he isn't necessarily writing a song about the season but admits it's definitely inspiring their new material. "It's bound to in some way seep into the music you know," he tells Newsbeat. "In some ways because it has been such a big six months. "I'm in the studio at the moment experimenting. It's inevitable that creatively it will rub off on you in some way."Football chants and things like You'll Never Walk Alone in the next album?

After tackling the horsemeat scandal, Kasabian's new single will be called 'Jamie Vardy wanted the ball'.
