48:13 was released a year ago. How do you feel about the album now? Has your opinion on any of the songs changed?

With some songs I fell in love pretty much instantly - Treat, Eez-Eh, SPS and Glass especially, and they're still my favourites. I'm appreciating Doomsday more now than when it was just released, it took some time with me. In short, I love pretty much everything.
I'm not Bumblebeee's and Bow's biggest fan though. I still do like them and always enjoy live but I'm not mad about about them, especially the album version of Bow. But idk, things change - I used to skip Stuntman for 3 years and now I adore it.
I wish they'd play everything live at some point, I really want to hear Explodes and would be amazing to hear Clouds again, such a pity it was dropped.

No shocking changes in perception after 1 year. Generally this is another Kasabian album that gets better the more you listen to it. This album is probably the only one of all five where i liked all songs instantly, while some are keep growing, like Explodes, Bow and Glass.
Another impression is that Serge knows himself better now as a songwriter. I don't know how exactly to explain that, but it looks like some tricks he uses are intentional now, not just accidential. This is good sign to me, especially if they are going a little experimental for the next album.
I also think that 48:13 is the most difficult for a new listener. You need to know Kasabian to fully appreciate it. And maybe this album is more live-oriented, so cutoff might get her way about it at some point;)

Wow. It's been over 5 years since the release of this album. Where does the time go? I still remember when this one came out like it was yesterday. I instantly fell in love with it. But 5 years and a ton of listens have definitely made it lose some of its shine and has now made it my least favorite of all of their incredible albums. There are so many tracks that are so close to being amazing but are lacking in some area and it's infuriating for someone who loves this band as much as I do. We start out strong with [shiva], Bumblebee, and Stevie (although now that I've heard the outro they put on Stevie in the live concerts now, it feels a little lacking), but then we stumble a bit with [mortis], and Doomsday (it's like a knockoff of Fast Fuse but nowhere near as clever). Treat, Glass, and Exolodes gives us the best stretch of the album imo, with Treat being the obvious showstopper of the album, and both Glass and Exolodes being criminally underrated. [levitation] should be at least 3 minutes long but instead teases the psychedelic potential this album never fully lives up to. Clouds and Eez-eh are both a lot of fun but feel a little too soulless at the same time. Bow picks things back up in a big way with some much needed feeling before we close out the album with the decent, but totally unnecessary S.P.S. Overall, this album's biggest problem is feeling a bit too mechanical and manufactured for its own good. Almost like Kasabian on Autopilot. Still, it gave us Treat. 😎 7/10
