Inspired by NME's brilliantly thought out 500 best albums list. What are your ten favourite albums of all time?

1. Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum 2. UNKLE - War Stories 3. John Frusciante - The Empyrean 4. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here 5. The Prodigy - Music For The Jilted Generation 6. The Verve - Forth 7. Porcupine Tree - Up the Downstair 8. Mogwai - The Hawk is Hawling 9. Julian Plenti - Julian Plenti is... Skyscraper 10. Oasis - Standing on the Shoulder of Giants
I tried to make a list from all different bands, because I cannot fit 4 Kasabian, 5 Pink Floyd, 4 UNKLE and 5 Frusciante/Ataxia albums in top 10;)

I recently did that again and had just two small changes:
REM - Lifes rich pageant Joy Division - Unknown pleasures Kasabian - Empire Oasis - Don't believe the truth Life of agony - Broken Valley The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
System of a down - Steal this album!
Pearl Jam - Ten Blue Gillespie - Synthesia The Pogues - If I should fall from grace with God Hole - Live through this Stockholm Monsters - Alma Mater plus
Sorry, PJ & SOAD! But as it was the "desert island question", I had to make room for the one female voice (Courtney L.) I love as much as usually only the guys' and the Stockholm Monsters need to be on that list ever since I fell for them.

Of course, a list like this will change over time, but these are the 10 I could think of the best as albums I always come back to and never get tired of. And I'm going to take Jay's idea and do only 1 per artist. So:
1. Kula Shaker - K 2. Kasabian - Kasabian 3. Hooverphonic - A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular 4. Muse - Showbiz 5. Rival Schools - United by Fate 6. ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Source Tags & Codes 7. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Take Them on, on Your Own 8. Giant Drag - Hearts and Unicorns 9. Indochine - La République des Meteors 10. Steriogram - Schmack!

cassabian tagged me on tumblr to make a list of my favourite 10 albums so I thought I'll repeat them here and bump the thread up. This is my non-Kasabian list, because I can't pick 1 or 2 Kasabian albums to be there So in some vague order: Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin I Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin II Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band The Prodigy - The Fat of the Land The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die Muse - Origin of Symmetry The Coral - Butterfly House Them Crooked Vultures - Them Crooked Vultures The Chemical Brothers - Don't Think (it's a live album, but almost all my favourite songs are here) I also wanted to include Rome (Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi) and One Life Stand (Hot Chip) but there was no space for them. I find it a bit weird not to have an Editors album because I really like them, but all my favourite songs are all over their various albums and I can't single one out.

I have this with most non-Kasabian bands. I have loads of favourite songs, but they're all on different albums, and it's quite rare that I find an album perfect from start to finish.

@crazyhorse69 so much love for Funeral and Dog Man Star, both beautiful albums. Funeral was such a strong debut album, full of amazing songs - Crown Of Love must be one of my favourite songs ever. Now I'm thinking Wish You Were Here should have been in my top 10 too - I just wanted to have sort of even representation of various bands. It's one of my favourite Pink Floyd albums, along with The Dark Side and The Wall, and an absolute masterpiece. frencheezeh somehow I expected a more Oasis/Noel G-heavy list from you but very pleased to see your zeppelin choices Hot Rocks was basically my introduction to the Stones (my dad loves them), it's a compilation album isn't it?

Starting to know me well, don't you ? But I can be full of surprises sometimes! Of course, I could definitely have put all Oasis and Noel G's albums in my list, but that would have been a quite boring list. Yes, Hot Rocks is the 1964-1971 compilation album, but I think it sums the Stones up so well (my dad used to listen to it all the time when I was a child), this represents the base of my musical choices. Along with Led Zeppelin and Sgt Pepper's. I just realized I haven't found a place for The Who - Tommy...
