So NME wants to know Which Members Of Massive Bands Are Criminally Underrated? Shall we get tweeting about Kasabian members who're not Tom and Serge? Somebody mentioned Chris which NME was kind enough to post about, and somebody else thinks ' Kasabian's old bassist Chris Karloff' is underrated which I find a bit funny because I think he's getting too much credit compared and people are still wanting him to come back. I think Ian is the most criminally underrated member of the band. There are so few drummers like him around, who can play anything, any genre, any style - and always sound amazing, but unfortunately very few people know this outside the fandom and jazz community.

Well, to be honest i do not think Chris, Ian and Tim are underrated. What i mean to say is if we say underrated, then we should clarify by who. Surely they do not get so much attention from press, but i do not think they want to. Even Serge is not always comfortable with press. A lot of people in music do not like much public attention. Even Noel Gallagher said in one of the recent interviews that he hates being in the center of everybody's attention. Playing guitar all night - love to! Sing all night, that is also ok. But being a frontman - not happy.
So with other words, i believe not Tom and Serge are not underrated by Tom and Serge. And i feel that they are not underrated by fans. And press... well who cares abut press:)
But this is only my opinion.

I thought all his interviews and all sorts of ~controversial statements~ are good old attention whoring. As for the underrated Kasabian members, I think there is a difference between general press attention and recognition of their talent. They don't have to be interviewed about their kids and favourite breakfast cereals all the time and I'm sure they don't want to, but NME and Q failing to have Chris and Ian on their covers or calling them 'the other two' pisses me off. An agreement within the band that Tom and Serge are doing all the promo doesn't mean we have to pretend we don't know who are the other insanely talented people making music with them.

Ben. He can build cars and stuff, he's awesome.
But seriously, I would say musically every single one of them is underrated.

I so wanted that someone would mention Ben. He's outstanding live, not a lot care or give any attention. Synths is what the band does best, and synths are tough to play. A change in filter levels and it can sound disastrous.
