I love both probably equally but Clouds get my vote because it's new and pretty and Fire is an old and popular monster.

¡Ay, caramba, i wanted clouds to win Do you think if we do the same contest in a few years time Clouds will get more votes?

¡Ay, caramba, i wanted clouds to win Do you think if we do the same contest in a few years time Clouds will get more votes? I doubt it, Fire is iconic. Clouds didn't get that great a reception when I saw them at Hydro. Stevie and Bumblebee are only tracks I think that might be still played regularly in 10 years. Treat is a maybe. Clouds had a great reception with me when I saw it live.
I didn't mean specifically against Fire - I just think that the new songs are in a bit of disadvantaged position, because people are often emotionally attached to older songs or have some special memories of them and it might affect their votes. In a few years the tracks from 48:13 will be the old classics, or some special rarities and get more votes.
As for being played in 10 years, I really don't know. I can't even imagine how they'll manage to pick a setlist in 10 years if they're making 5 more albums in the next 10 years. I don't think not playing Clouds or Bow or whatever else from 48:13 means that they're weaker or worse songs, but they just have a huge catalogue of songs to pick from and they need to try to please everybody. For example Serge has said that he thinks La Fee Verte is the best song he's ever written but they haven't played it since 2013. Maybe they'll randomly play Glass in 10 years like they brought little underrated Running Battle back this year and it was amazing.

I guess that different crowds can react differently to different songs. The crowd react far more to older songs, compared to newer ones. Velociraptor! only has three songs that are still getting played. The band must regard Kasabian and WRPLA as their best albums as setlists are generally dominated by songs from those two. La Fee Verte is quality. I'd love to hear it more. I still think they need to vary what they play a bit more. It would help if they played for longer. Sent from my HTC One using proboards
