I heard of this guy earlier in the year and listened to a couple of his songs.
His album called 'Goon' came out last week. I've been listening to it for the last couple of days and it's my album of 2015 so far.
He previously played backing guitar but inspired by breaking up with his girlfriend and his mum not being well has gone on to write a classic.
At 27 he taught himself to play piano and now at 29 has brought out this album of piano based ballads.
Highlights are How Could You Babe?, Hollywood and Can We Still Be Friends?
Best song might well be Crocodile Tears though.
At times he sounds like John Lennon. He certainly has a great knack for melodies and infectious tunes. The emotion in his voice is crucial to the album. It just goes to show how being heartbroken might seem awful but great things can transpire from it.

Nice album indeed. Generally it is not my style, but he sounds original. I liked it more than Hozier, which is also not bad.

I think the main thing is that he sings from the heart. The piano sound is simplistic in the main and links well with his vocals.
