Any other fans? I know Angkaz is a fan. They've been through a lot as a band with two members now dead and accountant who fucked them over. This year is 25 years since they brought out Some Friendly.
Tellin' Stories is one of my all time favourite albums and Tim Burgess is one of my favourite front men. His book is superb.
Looking forward to seeing them next month. Seen them a few times and they're always on form.

I only got properly in to them about 1996. I saw them do Some Friendly on 20 year anniversary tour, Tellin' Stories on 15 year too, T in the Park, greatest hits tour and when they brought out Simpatico. I also managed to see them headline Camden Crawl and accidentally ended up on stage before they played.

I also managed to see them headline Camden Crawl and accidentally ended up on stage before they played. Tell us what happened! Did you have the luck to meet them? We were at a music festival called Camden Crawl and were lucky enough to see Amy Winehouse in a wee pub called Dublin Castle. The festival takes place at a variety of pubs and clubs in Camden. We'd decided we wanted to go to Koko to see The Charlatans who were headlining. There was a large queue and it looked doubtful we'd get in. I encouraged my mates to try a different door. We quickly flashed our wristbands and got in. It was quite quiet the bit we went in, we walked downstairs, opened a door and it turned out we were on stage. I guess we kinda sounds checked for them. We weren't fortunate enough to meet them. I have met some of them another night though at an after party and ended up back at their hotel drinking with some of them. Tim had gone to bed though.

Ha ha loved your story. No doubt you'll be doing the red button for the 6 music festival. Also I thought it was a bit strange them headlining The Brits at Brooklyn Bowl but actually not up for any awards at the Brits unless they won an outstanding music contribution award.I was debating whether to do The Bowl gig but thought I'm seeing them next month and ive spent too much money on gigs recently.

Thanks. It was a good laugh. They deserve an award I reckon for their achievements. You liking Modern Nature? I'd love to go to more gigs but a mixture of cost and where we live means we don't get to as many we'd like. Its easier to go to a gig on a friday, Saturday or holiday.

Yes ,I'm loving Modern Nature now.I wasn't too sure at first but it was the same when I heard Talking in Tones for the first time it didn't grab me but it has grown on me.My favourite tracks are In the tall grass but I need you to know is the stand out track for me off the album and knowing how the song came about and it's meaning makes it such a special song .I will be a bit teary eyed if they play that at The Roundhouse.

Tellin' Stories stuff will always be my favourite as that's when I got in to them properly.

Wow,wow, wow now that was some gig at The Roundhouse absolutely superb a career spanning set like a greatest hits tour,I just wish I saw them at Brooklyn Bowl now .It took a while for the crowd to get going and as I went on my own I was seated and I felt I had to stay seated as I didn't want to piss people off considering I was front row but there was no way I was staying seated to The Only one I know ,that song is something else. The new stuff sounded great and blended well with the old stuff ,and with The Roundhouse being such a beautiful venue it made it seem more special. This was definately a 10/10.
