Jon Holmes chats to Serge and Tom from KasabianA lovely little interview from yesterday, Serge says something about a big annoucement in 6 weeks and going away and doing the next record. I would have thought it's too soon but I saw Serge after the gig yesterday and he suddenly started talking about how the next record is going to be 'the most most mindblowing thing you've ever heard'. I was so suprised and asked him is he really working on it now and he said yes, and it's 'fucking incredible' and he looked so happy and pleased about it. So so exciting!

Getting rather curious about this now, if the talk of no US tour beyond Coachella and nothing possibly in Europe is true.

A post cuttoff made in another thread could be construed that way. Nothing to draw a conclusion from, as she said, so I added "possibly".

Haven't listened to the interview yet, but the prospects of the new record caught me a little off guard. I am not talking for all fans of course, but right now would be too soon - i still haven't properly consumed 48:13 yet. But it looks like we could expect a new album in 2016, which would be just perfect.

That's a surprise in itself, seeing as there haven't been any Italian festival announcements...yet. Maybe one is on the way. Whilst all we have is past touring plans and conjecture to go on, the signs in my mind point to no meaningful Euro tour in this first half of 2015 and instead a spotty schedule up to festival season. Unless these big announcements are in fact touring plans... Here's another theory. The next "record" is an EP and the tour is more focused on the back end of 2015? It's fun to speculate.

Wait, new record already?!?! a bit too soon for my taste. Don't think Serge has ever worked on the next album as early as now. Also, big announcement to be Wembley.

Keep in mind that Serge worked on 48:13 as early as January 2013. He didn't say the next album is coming out next month, or even this year. The fact that he's making music doesn't give us any kind of time frame whatsoever. Also it takes a few months from completion to release anyway. For comparison though, a part of Velociraptor was already written in spring 2010. The West Ryder tour ended in August and by November they were back in the studio. I was surprised too that he started working on it already because in the past he always said he never writes on tour, but they had almost two months off, he was probably bored. I don't think there is a definite pattern to how he works and we literally don't have anything to go by, apart from him saying in Loaded that they don't want to take a long break between records.

So this big announcement will be around March 15th? Tom said in another interview that this will make the fans very happy.... I'm just like a kid, I can't wait! And if ever it would be for a stadium gig, the whole family is ready for a trip to the UK!!!
