It still makes me laugh that on the official Kasabian fb page the main info you see under musician/band is that the Velociraptor box is on sale now for £180, and if you click on the link, it takes you the Simple Pleasures vinyl for £5. Then you have to go to another tab for the box, which tells you that it's £89.99 now and sold out. Don't you love how up to date their fb page is.

I don't want to sound rude, but they have the worst management I've ever seen. Usually, it's the band doing stupid things, and the management trying to cover up, but here, it's the total opposite. The management screws up often, even their release goes out of order. We all know what happened during 48:13.
For me, as far as the Deluxe Edition goes, I'm not sure. I got the Velociraptor! album. It was quite cheap - 499 INR. was the price, and got it for 299 via discount. 1 GBP = 90 INR, so you can see how ridiculous India is about music. The delivery guy, after handing me the audio CD, was like, "sir, you do know you can download this album for free on the internet?", and I was like, yeah, thank you, leave now.
It's hard convincing my mom for the Deluxe version, cause the artwork is similar, and she'll be like, you bought over priced stuff again. Can someone tell me everything that is included, cause I'm not sure if the one available in India will have the same, cause Sony does publishing here, and for cheap, so donno.

Nah it's not rude, it's the truth. And the box was crazy overpriced. It has the regular album on vinyl, with the white cover, signed by the band. The CD with Pistols at Dawn as a bonus track. A DVD including a documentary, the track by track video that's already online, almost the full plane gig (STR is missing I think), and the Switchblade, Days and Re-Wired videos plus making ofs. There's also a hardcover booklet that was described as a "scrapbook" at first and claimed to include unseen pictures, but it's basically just the normal album booklet with a couple of pics that were in the official Velociraptor tour book. Then there are the four metal feather pendants and also a random poster of the album artwork. It's not that great. Here are some pictures. That said, I think the only place where you can still get it is Ebay, Discogs, etc. It was limited to 1,000 copies and sold out eventually.

The small deluxe box set can be bought for around £10 the other one because it's now very hard to get would be anywhere from £100 upwards.

Thought so... Hence I decided to ask. If the contents are all right, I'll buy it. Especially feathers and poster in there. Their autographs would be great, but it would be awesome to meet the band some day, and take it personally, frame it somewhere.
I think I'll buy the 48:13 deluxe edition. Haven't watched the Leicester concert.
They also have the 2000 copy live album. Might buy that.

It's not the super deluxe, don't buy it!- @crazyhorse69 just linked you to what it is (deluxe not super deluxe), and highroyds linked you to the actual super deluxe pics above. The one you want to buy doesn't have any feathers or autographs or anything extra, although there was a poster if I remember correctly.

I think the feathers were the main incentive for lots of people to buy it. Although not even those are great quality, if you wear them more than a few times the black will start to rub off. You can see it on the feathers the band used to wear, which are the same, the silver is shining through on most of them. Like cuttoff said, there is also a poster in the regular CD/DVD edition. Although it's smaller. The one in the box is big, but it's also a bit boring if you ask me, it's just the album cover in the middle and the rest is black, see the pictures. Here are some boxes for sale. I haven't seen them cheaper than $100 recently, if anything it's a bargain.

Obviously look away if you've paid £180 for it.

Well, there's no anniversary section for Velociraptor! proper, so I thought I'd give my thoughts on this brilliant album on this thread.
Over 8 years since this one was released. When it first came out, it took several listens to appreciate the way it deserved. Now, I look at it as the creative peak of all their albums so far. While WRPLA was the first time Serge took flight as sole creative voice in the band, Velociraptor! is when he spread his wings as wide as he possibly could. The psychedelia is dialed up to 11 and results in weird but cool little quieter moments and songs than has been found on a Kasabian album to date. The full spectrum of emotions, speeds, and volumes is explored several times over throughout its runtime and interspersed at perfect intervals. The only thing holding this one back is overproduction. Which is especially weird to me since Dan The Automater was the producer for both this and WRPLA. There are too many moments where the proper vibe (or just a really cool part) gets washed out by too much emphasis on strings or horns. Sometimes the drums are a bit too massive for their own good. A couple pieces of background vocals are almost completely incomprehensible (and not in the band's usual, accidentally-on-purpose kind of way). Otherwise, this would truly be their masterpiece imo. So many different sounds and styles that shouldn't work together but 1000% do. Deeper, more meaningful lyrics than any Serge has written before or after this album. Perfect opening track in Let's Roll..., the even more perfect one-two ending combo of the chaotic Switchblade Smiles and the hauntingly beautiful Neon Noon. Everything in between is just more icing on the cake. 9.5/10
