Hearing Treat live at SBE and 'getting' that song properly for the first time. The fire cannons at Mode, and Tom changing the words of LSF to "you're gonna fry us all". Tom's reaction to the fire cannons was PRICELSS!!! SO adorable. I love that show. And it's possibly one of my fave bootlegs also.

I've been very lucky to have lots of beautiful Kasabian memories this year but if I have to pick only one, it must the moment at iTunes when Pinch Roller started and suddenly the prospect of hearing Cutt Off live again became so real. I don't think I can put into words how special it was, hearing that pure, perfect album version, with masked man background and the crowd standing still.
Hearing Neon Noon live in Berlin is another very special moment, still one of the most beautiful things ever. still makes me so incredibly emotional.
Hearing the album for the first time at Abbey Road of course, and especially Glass, it hit me most at the playback.
Playing Treat very loud in my car for the first time when we got the album.
Many many more things - I can't list it all here, some of them were mentioned by others, the gigs, Abbey Road, iTunes, lovely little acoustic things, meeting the band, hearing the songs for the first time, all the new covers, seeing my friends, all the insanity of Brixton queueing, and most importantly, all the beautiful new and old songs we got to hear.

Probably since I'm new and lame I'd say the highlight was that ever listening to their music helped me get on with my life and depression that I've been suffering for a long time. Granted, they did not do or even say anything that is anything near like being a life advice nor is their music the "sweet, sappy" kind that will make you think of rainbows, butterflies and unicorns (not looking at you Coldplay), their music helped my mind focus and escape the harush realities I faced this year. Sergio calling them something like war/fight music made me feel like they're anthems to my own real-life battles. The reason why I love the Velociraptor and Empire albums were that they embodied the mindset I wanted to emulate as I get through with depression and being obsessed with their music recently is probably the best thing that has ever happened in my life. It's better late than never, right? Absolutely not lame at all. That's great, it really is.

The Abbey Road playback and the most beautiful me and Tommy photo taken by my beloved Flipflop, for whcih I will always be eternally grateful. The funny thing about that photo is that I took it by mistake - but it worked out perfectly. It goes part of the way to paying back my eternal gratitude to sundaygirl for giving me her +1 for the Abbey Road playback. Also reminded me of a couple of things I'd probably rather not remember - Going arse over tit in front of the queue at Mode - one day I'll learn that people who have trouble walking long distances shouldn't wear heels and - Asking a security guy at Abbey Road for a chair because "I can't stand up for 48 minutes and 13 seconds" and him not getting the album title reference and looking at me like I was nuts. It's been so great reading everyone's lovely memories of this year. I love this thread.

You should tell the lady caster story. Two women showed up and tried to find out what "lady caster" in Re-Wired means and for some reason it was really funny. They asked Chris first, who didn't know, then Tim, who tried to figure it out and somehow ended up talking about Plaster Caster instead, and then Gary who didn't even know which song it was from at first. Then the women kind of decided that it has something to do with "making a woman wet" and each of the band members they informed of this was like "WHAT??" I would have loved to know if they discussed it with Serge later but I felt awkward bringing it up again the next day.

Hahaha , I'd heard a garbled version of the lady caster story, but not the full details And this: Haha, oh dear. I'm kind of relieved that sensible grown-up joshman is occasionally as daft as the old joshman though. Though not that daft, I mean, you were right, weren't you?

Neon Noon in Berlin. Tim and Serge telling me and my friend to come to a TV show in Berlin a few days after the gig. Every single thing that happened there. The audience didn't really know who they were (they were actually there for the ridiculous show which was sold out months ago) so they were basically playing just for the both of us, saying hi from the stage, all smiling and being the sweethearts they are. Tim gave us two guitar picks after playing Stevie. I joked about this being like the private gig in our living rooms which Tom promised all of us in the audience who waited all day long for them at Isle of Wight '11 in the most terrible rain in the history of festivals. I always tell myself I don't need this – talking to them, making some kind of a personal connection. The music really is more than enough for me. But I can't help the fact that they are so lovely and make everyone feel so special.

But that was NOTHING! A couple a days before that, when I was doing recon in Notting Hill trying to find the club, I did a spectacular trip, completely lost my balance and nearly fell on this old lady and her little trolly, all in front of a street full of locals and tourists!

I also seem to NOT have this whole quote thing down as I always seem to mess it up.

Noooooo! It was absolutely not your fault, totally mine. I mean, I was wearing boots, FFS, and it was a really warm day. Plus I misjudged the distance from the station to the venue, and if anyone should be able to read a map and plan a route properly, it's me. I didn't know about you falling over, we've obviously not got the hang of this walking upright lark
