What are your favourite memories and moments of this year? Hearing songs for the first time, gigs, meeting the band?

One of best moments was hearing that the band were playing in Kilmarnock. Getting tickets for that was superb. The gig itself was one of if not the best I've seen/heard them.

Seeing, nah, experiencing them live for the very first time. I guess that is pretty unbeatable in my personal Kasabian universe.

Oh heck, so many it's hard to edit down. OK, in not-very-chronological order: Hearing Stevie and s.p.s live acoustic at HMV just a couple of days after the album was released. Hearing Treat live at SBE and 'getting' that song properly for the first time. The fire cannons at Mode, and Tom changing the words of LSF to "you're gonna fry us all". The Abbey Road album preview. Seeing Kasabian live twice in a week (not feasibly physically possible for me prior to this year). Getting to hear U-Boat at Brixton - also the moment I.D. kicked in and realising I'd won Kasabian setlist roulette, cos I knew they'd play it at least one night of the five and I'd hoped it'd be one of the two I went to. Oh, and Cuttoff saving me a setlist from the Monday gig, and arriving at the queue just as Tim was talking to people, so I was able to get him to sign the only setlist I'll ever own. So many more, but I think I've listed enough

- Getting an email in April saying Serge has a "massive amount of respect" for us and wants to invite us to Abbey Road. I was scared to make travel arrangements for a week because I thought it's a joke. - Explodes being released by mistake in Germany. Not a great achievement, but good for me, and a very unexpected preview even before Eez-Eh was played on the radio. - Hearing three new songs (especially Beanz, because they only played it twice in total) and Running Battle in Paris. - Abbey Road. Hearing the album for the first time, which was so overwhelming I still don't know what to say about it. Being able to talk to Tim properly without having to be quick. Tom asking for my name and telling me his mum's best friend is called Dina and "that's so rare." Everyone being wonderful. The next day we visited the pink wall. - Hearing that first acoustic Stevie and crying forever. It's still my favourite version. - Getting gig reports from cuttoff all summer when I was too unwell to go to gigs myself. Some of the band members asking where I am when she showed up alone. (We're a set.) - iTunes Festival, without even being there. I'm eternally grateful that they did it in that setting, so everyone everywhere could watch it and share that experience, and we'll have the footage forever. It was fair, I like fair. - Making Paradise numbers happen when Aitor was like stop trying to make Paradise numbers happen, it's not going to happen - Finally seeing them again in Bremen, seeing the Treat lights for the first time. Somehow that's my most vivid memory from that gig, that first laser thing popping up and the childlike amazement that followed. Tim somehow remembering a random comment I made back in May. The Doberman coming back, at least partially. The Neon Noon soundcheck. Stevie being the set opener for the first and only time. - Talking for AGES to Tim and Gary afterwards, despite trying circumstances, and I don't just mean the cold. They're the most amazing people, so much fun and so lovely and patient. Meeting Chris briefly. The best part was meeting Tom, who is an angel and who came over even though we didn't approach him, who hugged and kissed me and asked me to marry him, and when he assumed we want to take pictures I said no, I don't want anything, I just want to say thanks for the beautiful gig, and he really seemed to appreciate it. Which was such a nice feeling, because they give me so much, I always want to give something back somehow, and sometimes that can be just not asking for anything else. He was like "Thank you" and Marty was like "That's sweet" and I was like fuck yeah. - Talking to Tim and Gary again the next afternoon in Berlin. Finally getting Gary's signature and an extra special trumpet. - They played Neon Noon for us. We were pretty sure they did it mostly because we asked, but I always felt a bit weird taking credit for it, because they were soundchecking it, but we talked to Tim in Brixton and he said they played it for us. So beautiful and so special. And it was my first time hearing Bow as well that day. Berlin was also a friend's first ever Kasabian gig, which was kind of exciting for me and gave me a whole new perspective in terms of what songs people enjoy and want to hear live when they're not super extra hardcore fans. - BRIXTON WEEK. Tim visiting us in the queue a couple of times to discuss Nando's sauces and obscure song details. Seeing Gary and Ian briefly. Queueing 41 hours in total for all five gigs, getting ill by Saturday and going through with it anyway. U Boat, Crazy, S.P.S., Me Plus One, Word Up, I Feel Love, the strings, the lights. I got Serge's plectrum that he played the acoustic Bumblebeee intro with on the Thursday. Brixton security looking after us, giving us sweets and earplugs and hugs. Seeing some lovely people ( flipflop, pip, sundaygirl, bury420 sorry if I forgot anyone) who made up for some annoying ones. Pretty much the fact that we did this at all because it was a bit mad. I'll probably remember some more things later.

Amsterdam Gig in november and first time hearing Stevie acoustic Hearing acoustic Stevie for the first time must be entire fandom's collective favourite moment. I think everybody fell in love with that song that moment. flipflop your list is so lovely, it was so nice to see you at all those gigs you mentioned. And yay you got ID after all!

I was scared to make travel arrangements for a week because I thought it's a joke. That was truly the most confusing moment in my life, I had no idea what's going on. Amazingly, it wasn't a joke. You should tell the lady caster story. It gets the misinterpreted lyric of the year award.

I've been a fan just this year and I live in a very isolated location in the world so I haven't seen them live yet (even though I wanted to but Japan and Korea are so far away and expensive).
I read highroyd's post and I had tears in my eyes. I've been a fan of other bands but I haven't been this interested over the bandmembers themselves simply because they do sound like lovely and genuine people. I wish I had memories to note of.
Probably since I'm new and lame I'd say the highlight was that ever listening to their music helped me get on with my life and depression that I've been suffering for a long time. Granted, they did not do or even say anything that is anything near like being a life advice nor is their music the "sweet, sappy" kind that will make you think of rainbows, butterflies and unicorns (not looking at you Coldplay), their music helped my mind focus and escape the harush realities I faced this year. Sergio calling them something like war/fight music made me feel like they're anthems to my own real-life battles. The reason why I love the Velociraptor and Empire albums were that they embodied the mindset I wanted to emulate as I get through with depression and being obsessed with their music recently is probably the best thing that has ever happened in my life. It's better late than never, right?
Also, the iTunes Festival was a blessing. It made me love the first album because I really wasn't into it but they're now part of my Running Battle too.

I think Kilmarnock was probably a one off though I'd imagine they loved playing there. The only thing that could come close to that is seeing them at Barrowland.

OMG SO MANY! I have SO many!!!!!
Cutt Off running to get me from the cafe next to the Bataclan to tell me they were soundchecking Me Plus 1, where I immediately burst into tears...
The Irish tour and my two Tommy kisses in Limerick
The Abbey Road playback and the most beautiful me and Tommy photo taken by my beloved Flipflop, for whcih I will always be eternally grateful.
The iTunes concert and telling Cutt Off that she was going to be my plus one and literally feeling her happiness from across the Internet.
The beautiful Mode gig.
Brussels and meeting up with my friend Reese (who I knew for ages from the old forum) for the first time and finding out that we get along like a house on fire. Both of us weeping for joy when they played Me PLus 1 and Stuntman, then having a blast the next day getting hopelessly lost in Brussles while discussing all the while how much we love this stuipid band.
The Brixton shows and covering ourselves with baby blankets and heatpatches to keep warm, and the fantastic setlists we got!
Tim just showing up at the queue for the Thursday Brixton gig and just chatting with us for ages! And me telling him "Oh I think they're going to let us in now..."
So many memories....
I almost forgot the Leicester gig!!!! That perfect gig! And meeting up with so many friends!!!

Cutt Off running to get me from the cafe next to the Bataclan to tell me they were soundchecking Me Plus 1, where I immediately burst into tears... This is one of my loveliest memories of this year, I'm so glad you got the hear not only the soundcheck, but they also played it at the gig that day, and then you heard the remix version too. You know I'll forever be grateful for taking me to iTunes, it was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. And I'm certainly not going to miss the heat patches and baby blankets in Brixton

Galway was another lovely memory and my first look at the Bingo hall where they were playing!!!!!! A BINGO HALL!!! Ha ha ha! And meeting up with Cutt Off and other friends! Also watching the roadies set up the stage in Limerick in the big tent thing that was the town market hall - people just strolling around the various stalls while the roadies were putting the stage together and me just watching it all from the cosy cafe I was sat in. Gah! I hate this stupid band!
