stannis gave me the idea for this yesterday when we were talking about U Boat. I love The Doberman so much, and think it's the best closer, although all of them are beautiful and there certainly is a pattern of soft, pretty Serge songs as closers. Let's have a poll then:

I voted for The Doberman. But it is not really a closer like the other four. Technically yes, because it is the last song, but it doesn't feel like closer. So from the other four i would choose Neon Noon, mainly because of the instant contrast with Switchblade Smiles.

In its capacity as an album closer it's The Doberman. My favourite song out of these would be a different one, and they all work perfectly imo, but The Doberman is so special.

I have to stick to U Boat. It's a sweeping little mini-movie and a brilliant showcase of the haunting quality the debut possesses.

I'm changing my vote from The Doberman to Neon Noon. The Doberman is one of my favourite songs ever and it's perfect but I thought it could work anywhere in the album (maybe ideally towards the end, something like Secret Alphabets), while Neon Noon just fits so beautifully in the end both musically and lyrically and I've fallen in love with it all over again. SPS would probably be my second choice - again, I can't imagine it anywhere but in the end.

I thought this was worth reviving seeing as opener one has kind of been revived.
Mine has maybe changed to Put Your Life On It.

I voted for Doperman which I consider one of Kasabian's best songs overall but lately I'm listening a lot to Velociraptor.. Neon Noon is one of the songs I usually listen on repeat..Maybe I catch myself feeling''guilty'' for not liking it that much at first.(second place for Neon Noon).
Happiness is my least favourite West Ryder song and between U Boat and S.P.S, U Boat wins.
