I'm just back from the movie. there was a very cute Q&A in the beginning, I'll write a bit more about it later. There was a tiny bit of a backstage footage in the beginning of the movie, how they walk on stage and there was a lovely moment of all 7 of them standing in a circle and putting their hands together. Here is the list of the songs from the movie, it wasn't the full gig

It was so beautifully edited, the shots from the helicopter were gorgeous, the sound was great and i think it was specifically edited to make the crowd sound really loud especially for the big singalong songs like Empire and LSF. I really really hope we'll get a DVD one day.

Do you know what really pisses me off and most likely you is that this screening in London yesterday of which joe public never really got a look in was attended by quite a few pointless celebrities.WHY ??.Couldnt they just do it for the people who actually pay to see them at gigs and buy their music.Kasabian HQ couldn't even put say 50 wristbands on a ballot on their site ,other bands do why not them.
Yes I'm harking back to Biffy Clyro , when they done the screening in London of their DVD they put a comp on their website for wristbands and that screening was just as it should be people who fork out for their music etc.Yes I know it's the record company but it's a load of xxxxxxxxx..

I think a major part of it was not about Kasabian so much as it was about promoting that Sony phone. But I agree with you, I was looking at Gettyimages and it was all people I've never heard of. But we don't know how much of a say the band had in where and when and how the film was shown and who got to attend the premiere. I suspect not much.

They've said it several times that the words don't mean anything, they're just random words. The same quesion was asked during the Q&A and interviewer wanted to know whether there is a message behind the words, and Serge said imagine if Jimmy Page is doing a long amazing solo and the word behind him says 'cordial', how funny that would be? That's exactly what we're trying to do. highroyds there was a quote from Serge about the words recently we were talking about, where was it? I can't remember. |

It totally makes sense to me if he puts it like that, it's supposed to be funny and confuse people, and that definitely worked. (Although it was better at HRC because it was unexpected.) But then Aitor is saying in interviews that it's so deep and meaningful and "words that mean a lot to the band" yeah whatever. Fistula.

If a DVD of the gig isn't released, it'll almost certainly lead to Sony losing money on the whole thing. Which they won't want to do.
