The National, because they are fantastic and their music makes me feel everything imaginable. Not a single bad song. They're also very funny.

I spent like half an hour writing this because there are so many categories of favourites in my head that I can't just list them after each other. Led Zeppelin are the other love of my life, I love their every single song and album. I love The Beatles and Pink Floyd; The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers are favourites too. Then there are some bands I listen to a bit and like only some of their stuff - like Muse, Hot Chip, The Coral, Editors, and I'm not sure even whether they qualify as favourites or no. In short, I love Kasabian so much that everything else fades next to them.

Oh wow, now I feel a bit weird having only mentioned one other band. I enjoy listening to millions of things but to be called a favourite in my book it has to be really special. So after The National there's a long gap, and then I also like The Gaslight Anthem, The Kills, The Smiths + Morrissey, Bob Dylan, Marina & the Diamonds, King Creosote, Oasis + all their spin offs (when I'm not angry at them), The Decemberists, Fleetwood Mac, Tori Amos, Calexico, Ocean Colour Scene, Joan Baez, Editors, Antony & the Johnsons, Dresden Dolls, Cat Power, The Dead Weather, Rolling Stones.

Sorry I went a bit crazy haha! I like so many genres and generations I have a select few from each. I struggle with the phrase 'favourite band/artist' a lot. They're all special for their own reasons IMO. I'm a music snob to believe it or not, which seems odd when my list is a bit whirish but I am, honest.
