And then the whole Switchblade Smiles thing happened, or rather didn't. Like an omen for things to come. I'm still upset about that.

I was going to originally say "of all time", but I forgot about Man of Simple Pleasures. It somehow didn't even crack the Top 200 with a vinyl batch. There must have been miniscule digital downloads and alongside an acoustic gig in The Box, London, a week before, there were no promo performances of the tune due to the gruelling U.S. tour of 2012. I thought MOSP was the worst and unlikeliest choice for a single anyway. It's probably one of my favourite songs on the album, but it was ridiculous, having another slow one after Goodbye Kiss, and it wasn't exactly popular. I thought Velociraptor would be the last single, especially with that Sticks & Bones remix snippet turning up. The MOSP video was pretty pointless as well, which can't have helped. And then the whole Switchblade Smiles thing happened, or rather didn't. Like an omen for things to come. I'll have to disagree on MoSP! I'm glad Velociraptor! remained an album track and MoSP just pips Let's Roll (couldn't see any other track being suitable over those two). Yeah, the video was a poorly executed good idea in my view. It was just a bit boring really. Haven't watched it since the first time I did. The Switchblade thing was bizarre. I know there's a promo CD with a white cover and the red drum riser logo but was a vinyl single ever actually in the works? I seem to recall that vaguely.

There are three different promo CDs, the logo isn't red though. Do you mean this one? A single release was announced, promos were sent out to journalists, then the release date was moved back a week if I remember correctly (it says 8th on the sticker, then it was supposed to be 15th I think) and then the date passed without a single being released. Band had no idea, PR had no idea there was going to be another single at all, eventually we heard that apparently the label messed it up somehow. But it would have been a repeat of the Vlad single because we all got Switchblade for free in June 2011, so it's probably better that it wasn't released. Not sure if it was going to be a vinyl or just a digital release, we never got that far.

I remember it being red for some reason but that might have been the album release placeholder shot.

The very one! It's like Kasabian True Detective in here.

Meh. I regret what happened with MOSP. It was good to be honest, but when your ears are twitched to hear something groovy or catchy or energetic, you can't relate to songs. La Feé Verte is my favourite song by Kasabian. Ever. But it would self explode as a single, in the eyes (or rather, ears) of the mainstream. No one would notice the moods, the violin parts or bother to relate. Kasabian songs are definitely good on records and live. As far as Glass goes, people are aware mentally of the end part is a poem. Psychologically, they refer it to as rap just cause Kanye West be inspirational some bit. So this connection is made. Glass is amazing, including the Middle Eastern plus Synthesizer part. It's kinda about the society. The poem seems to be the reason why the song is there. (Pss, does anybody know that ATB; SFTS's "one way glass" is derived from the Desert songs Serge was talking about with Mulberry)
P.S. - Does anyone or any site has the real explanation for the Bumblebeee video?

I do know that but he had been listening to desert rock. At the end of the song, you can hear the phrase, 'one way glass.' So not sure

Oh in one of the songs they play? Which one? But one way glass is a thing that exists, it wasn't invented by whoever they're listening to.

Well, a slightly concerning fact is that bumblebeee's digital EP hasn't entered the iTunes Top 200 yet. With pre-orders coming into effect the minute it's released, you'd expect a sudden jump and decline as the week went on. The 48:13 copy of bumble is currently sitting at #175 (eight below eez-eh!). With the vinyl bump being a fortnight away yet, and streaming not likely to have much of an effect, we could have the lowest peaking Kasabian single in the Top 200. I was going to originally say "of all time", but I forgot about Man of Simple Pleasures. It somehow didn't even crack the Top 200 with a vinyl batch. Just seen confirmation that it didn't make the Top 200 last week. I wonder if the vinyl sales will mean much a week today. Not likely.

The vinyl sales didn't crack the Top 200 either. #165 from the week of 48:13's release will remain the benchmark for bumble.

Love the acoustic opening so much, really hope they keep it
I keep thinking that they should have done something similar to Underdog when it was the set opener in 2009.
