So, after hearing bumblebeee in it's BBC pro-shot glory tonight, so little bits jumped out. It confirmed that BB001 is indeed a snippet of bumblebeee, notably the keyboard part that comes in around 11 seconds here. soundcloud.com/kasabianofficial/bb001And this video from a few months back was the recording of the chorus! It wasn't too audible in any Paris live videos.

It is the mother of moshpits in my opinion. Atleast in recent memory

It's starting to piss me off that everyone (even the official Sony newsletter) is saying they played it for the first time on Jools. I could have sworn I heard it in Paris... funny. Is it a British disease that everything outside the UK doesn't really exist? I've been watching that for years and years in the music press. "Kasabian didn't tour this year" "What about these 35 European festivals they played?" "Nope"

Also wondering if it's referencing The Ocean by Led Zeppelin, which is also supposed to be about their fans, and there's a lot of sunshine and moonlight going on.

Serge did refer to it having a mood like Led Zeppelin and RATM. But in the chorus. So I think no. Awkward how they sadi they played it first on Later... If hearing their songs outside the UK is considered invalid, then most of us have never heard Kasabian. :v

I'm not sure if my ears don't function properly, but where's the buzzing sound as we were anticipating? Or is it that the live version is altered?

Can't wait for the studio version! For those who have listened, is it better than the live one?

Or, since we know by now that the songs NME got to listen to were demos, it might not be on the finished version at all, like the horsemeat.

Can't wait for the studio version! For those who have listened, is it better than the live one? I can't really say it was better or worse but it was very big and glorious. I was more expecting something dark and vicious like Switchblade Smiles, Club Foot or Vlad after all the descriptions everywhere that it's their biggest and darkest song. But it's sort of softer, more melodic.

Serge did refer to it having a mood like Led Zeppelin and RATM. But in the chorus. So I think no. I don't mean the mood or general sound, I mean the lyrics. We know they're influenced by Zeppelin so it's not exactly obscure, Zeppelin have a song about their fans in which they refer to them as an ocean, Bumblebeee is supposedly about the fans, "can't get enough of the ocean", there is sunshine and moonlight in both songs, I think it's far more likely than Psycheground.

Well, "All you pretty things, come get on this mothership. All you've got to be, is ready for action" sounds pretty "call to action" for the fans to me. Could fit.

Serge said in the NME article that it's about the fans, that's not my interpretation: "Humans can't exist without bumblebees, and the song's about the fans and about us joining together and reaching a higher state with them - our fans are our bumblebees. Without them we're fucked. Without them pollinating the flowers, we're done."
