Serge, Tom and Tim just played an acoustic version of Stevie on Radio 105. It already caught my attention during the album playback, but this is exceptional. |

If someone who has listened the new album tells me that in the album this song is like the accoustic version plus a cool synth, i will sleep happy tonight!!

finnaly we found what serge mentioned 'kid' on NME interview few months ago.they just can't stop wow-ing us, acoustic version of stevie is amazing.

They have always re-invented themselves time and again. I think it should be a tough decision for us to complete the top 10 list once the new album comes out.

Just listening to it again. The lyrics seem thematically quite similar to Where Did All the Love Go?
Serge has a knack for very direct expressions of growing up in modern day Britain. Stevie seems like a teenager who's on the verge of adulthood, struggling against the pull of gang culture. Mass media has distorted his view of life. Very close to the society depicted in WDATLG.
As previously mentioned in an interview, the first verse deals with Stevie's parents and family pleading with him to live an honest life, whereas the chorus is Stevie's outlook on his future. It's a matter of survival for him. However, he's "dreamt a little bigger", and unfortunately his sees the gang culture as the means to an end for a life above his station.
Just my two cents. That chorus is one of the most uplifting melodies they've ever written. Can't wait to hear stevie in it's "electro clothes".

It starts with the most beautiful strings intro, I think it was a double bass or a cello, I'm not sure at all but it was amazing. I'm glad you liked it, somehow I wasn't sure whether it's your sort of thing |
