It's impossible to choose just one. I love the whole album, Velociraptor! will always have a special place in my heart, because it's the album that made me a fan. I will never forget that evening, end of March 2012. I had this new cd, "the new album of this band, you must listen to it!", a friend of mine had advised me some days before. It’s weird but I usually listen to new stuff when I’m doing other things, and that evening I just wanted something to listen to while I was chatting on facebook. Let’s Roll Just Like We Used To began and… I fell in love. Yes, it’s been that simple. After a few seconds I stopped typing on my pc keyboard and looked at the stereo speakers to be sure the sound was actually coming from them. Something in that song instantly catches your attention and kind of immobilizes you, you are obliged to listen. Maybe it’s Ian’s drumming that keeps you focused from the very beginning, I don’t know. But it’s at minute 1:14 that the spell is cast: the strings, the clapping, the chorus. When that amazing baritone sings “Theeeeeeeeeeeey’re at it agaaaaaaain, Let’s rooooooooll just like we uuused tooo…”, your ears explode with joy. And for me there has been no way back from there. So, maybe my favourite song is Let’s Roll Just Like We Used To.

I love Let's Roll so much, it's the most beautiful album opener - I always hope they might open a gig with it too one day, with the gong and the trumpet.

That would be great! And I totally agree, it's a perfect album opener, it really puts you in the right mood for the whole album.

My favourite on Velociraptor! is Man of Simple Pleasures. The music, the lyrics, the vocals hits me hard in the heart.
The music reminds me of being so drunk where it feels like everything is in slow motion and it seems as though there is a lot of meaning behind the lyrics. Who knows if they're personal to Serge, but I'm sure a lot of people can relate to them.
Tom's vocals are so ridiculously beautiful and soulful in this song and you can really hear the emotion in Serge's voice as he sings 'I'm not gonna be standing in the line, waiting for you just to pick me out'.
I think it's one of their best tunes.

I don't think the song Velociraptor gets as much love as it should. It's so energetic and fun! And always puts me in a good mood! And Tom's voice when he sings sings the second verse with the "Unavoidable collision.... So called, Normal BEHAVIOUR"!! Ah, orgasmic. LOVE IT!

It's been my ringtone and alarm sound for two years. Super effective in the morning!

Here it has to be "Switchblade smiles". Here again, I like everything about it, the slow intro, the building up, the scream, the wonderful way in which both voices complement each other. Also, although it has nothing to do with the song itself, I love the video.

Agree with everything you say Switchblade Smiles, one of the best songs Serge has ever written and it's even more amazing live.

"Man of simple pleasures" will always be my fave Kasabian-song, when i first heard it live it made me cry a bit. It just means so much to me, i relate to the lyrics in my own way, especially the lines "i've seen your future so leave me alone in the past" and "i'll stay dancing to my favourite tune, that's where i belong" , it sounds so cheesy, but they mean the world to me. Also "I hear voices", i love their voices Tom and Serge's voice together and the music is so dreamy, it takes me to another world. I Also chose "Let's roll just like we used to", it brings back the good teenage-memories. If i could pick another fave, it would be "Acid Turkish Bath (shelter from the storm)", i love Serge's voice in that one, the music is amazingly perfect and Tom's backing vocals give me goosebumps all over.

I'm loving the love for Man of Simple Pleasures, I don't think it gets enough. Acid Turkish Bath is probably the greatest song on the record in my opinion but Simple Pleasures is just so warm and sweet and pretty.

When I first saw Switchblade at Sheffield Academy I wasn't that keen on it ,even my friend knew by my facial expression it was a bit meh!!.But shit ,this is possibly and for me the best Kasabian track.Even beating the legendary club foot. The way it kicks in and then it kicks in even more it's just mindblowing.

Think they should attempt Acid Turkish Bath live. I reckon it's got a strange connection in theme to Secret Alphabets.

Think they should attempt Acid Turkish Bath live. I reckon it's got a strange connection in theme to Secret Alphabets. Ian said they would. Apparently they've were rehearsing it ages ago but something didn't feel right, then he said they were going to do it this year, which obviously didn't happen, but this time it sounded like they really want to play it.

Well, Happiness got it's first full band airing the tour after it's release, so there's form for it!
