Since a few of us have been wondering about Aitor's involvement in the next album, I thought this might be of interest: He's working with Damon Albarn now. Not sure how much time that would leave to still be Kasabian's creative director at the same time, because he was travelling with them a lot on the last tour. I do hope they'll keep Neil Bedford and James from Ampbox though, who originally belonged to Aitor. But they stole Tim from Dan as well and are not working with Dan anymore.

Fucking brilliant. I was hoping they would realise all his drawings look the same and ditch him. #bringbackwiz

There is an interview with Aitor in NME - page 1 and page 2 which is so pretetious and irritating. Does anybody like him? I don't like his 'Serge this' and 'Serge that' attitude, I find him a bit dismissive about the rest of the band. I think he's said it again somewhere else too that he's got 'particularly a lot' with Serge because of their 'Latin backgrounds'. Really? Because Serge's grandad is Italian and you're Argentinian it means you're so similar? I don't like his clothes, I don't think his covers are particularly amazing. They might be clever but they're nowhere near the Empire or West Ryder covers. The only thing he did I really liked was the SBS vid, but there was no need for him to stay for this album. I want WIZ back. I'm turning into one of those 'bring back Karloff' people.

I don't like how he takes credit for everything, the album title was his idea, the exclamation mark for Velociraptor was his idea, the pink was his idea, he's the only one who "gets them"... It's like, wow, how did they even function before you found them like abandoned ducklings by the side of the road? Next he's going to claim Serge wrote all the songs about him because he's his muse. And he did fucking write Shiva for his dumb fashion show so that's not even too far off. Ugh.

On the plus side, I thought that the black and white gave the band a very streamlined, sleak visual. It forced eyes on the band, rather than multi-coloured bells and whistles every two seconds on the big screen. Similarly, some of the accompaniment on the video screens during the tour fit the songs really well. The La Fee Verte smoke comes to mind.
I think where the problem arises, is what you've touched on there in the interview, cuttoff. It was a simple colour scheme. Quite stark. From his comments though, you'd think done something completely mental. And now, a new tour, let's go with pink. It's as far away from black as possible. Well, fine, but there's no need for the artist speak, I think.
I'll wait and see how Glastonbury looks though. I'm fine with the pink touches thus far (it's still pink with black and white!), but we'll see how I feel in summer 2015 when the world tour winds it's way back around the festivals again.
The real camel backbreaker will probably be if the sixth record features a "revolutionary grey colour scheme, designed to reflect the debut album and Velociraptor! influences, but also the futility of man in 1860s Estonia", or something else typically artistic!

Similarly, some of the accompaniment on the video screens during the tour fit the songs really well. The La Fee Verte smoke comes to mind. I really liked some of the things he did in the beginning, like cuttoff said, the Switchblade video is amazing, it suits the song perfectly, I love it, just like I loved the arena tour visuals. (Although as far as I know those were developed by Silent Studios, which I'm not sure belongs to Aitor? They work together but his name is not on the website.) But the feeling I had the entire tour was that he was almost putting them in uniform. They're not a boyband. No, this is your new colour, on Wednesdays we wear black. I would probably assume it was a mutual decision, but we know for a fact that he changed at least one thing about their visual stuff without consulting the band, and it was not appreciated. As for the revolutionary grey colour scheme, Damon already got that one, didn't he?

Aw, bloody hell. Well, he'll have to get the primary colour wheel out and choose something else then.
At the risk of sounding like a gossip...changed a tour visual, you say?

At the risk of sounding like a gossip...changed a tour visual, you say? He changed something about an instrument's look which the owner of the instrument wasn't too happy with. It was pretty obviously not a case of them having a band meeting and agreeing on it all together.

I think that West Ryder arena tour set the bar so high, it was very arty and meaningful at the same time. Do you think there is a chance he'll redeem himself by designing some amazing covers for the singles?

eez-eh artwork is awful. I'm starting to think he's ran out of ideas or something.

The artwork for Eez-eh is kinda weird to understand. But if you look at it from different angles, the words still look very clear
