Interesting. There's a lot going on. I like it. It feels more of this era than Alygatyr. Alygatyr sounded like Tom was supposed to sing it, this is more Serge. The pre-chorus or whatever it is reminds me of Favourites. I hope there will be a few more stripped back songs on the album and not just this wall of effects all the way through.
I don't think there will be a physical release of the single, it doesn't even have a cover.

Love the electronic / hiphopy sound, get an SBS vibe and I think it works with Serge's voice.

From HMV:
Produced by Serge Pizzorno and Fraser T Smith, mixed by Spike Stent and written by Serge, ‘Scriptvre’ is one of the many standout tracks on their eagerly anticipated new album ‘The Alchemist’s Euphoria’ unveiled August 5th on Columbia Records. Serge says: ‘Scriptrve is about rewriting the story you tell yourself. Editing your own script’.

Lyrics from the video description:
Get the vile Get the blood Give me aggro Take em all On my own Like in Rambo On a roll, gotta reach for the light Gotta reach for the mic As I walk from the shadow Out of sight Out of mind With a blind fold Fight fires I’m a Like a god In choke hold Innovate My time, my place I’m keeping my cut from the liar To the gallow Even though I’m full of it I’ll always puff my chest out You can tell the Antichrist You’re fucking with the best now I don’t wanna stop You think you wanna be Never gonna let you go Took it to the top I don’t wanna be no hero Never gonna let you go Blind as the old man Dreaming in the sun As I lay you down to die Love is a fire Burns in everyone We can fly till it gets you home Gets you home Gets you home

As an S.L.P. song, really good.

Listened to it quite a lot this morning and really do like it now, gets better with each listen. So much better than the last few lead singles they’ve released. I love the “blind as an old man….” bit, and those strings are just lush!

I don’t like the song that much but I like the sound of it, if that even makes sense lol. I’m actually quite glad they’re going for something that’s organic for the band, rather than retreading old sounds/material.

I'm really, really liking this, almost to my surprise cos I never fully took to Alygatyr. Need to play this LOUD and then it proper works. Seeing a lot of people mention Beastie Boys but I'm also getting a Pendulum vibe. They mightn't be keen on that comparison but I loved Pendulum But ultimately it sounds Kasabian. I really liked The S.L.P. stuff but I'm not getting that from it at all tbh.

Agree about Pendulum (in a good way too), and a bit of Gorillaz too, reminds me of Stylo.

Yes, to all of this! There wasn't much of The S.L.P stuff I particularly enjoyed, and I find this far more listenable. I have high hopes, and am looking forward to the next tour, and enjoying it with fellow Kasabian fans (that is, not the people who have turned out to be fans of one band member, not the band as a whole).

It's a fantastic comeback imo. Can't wait for the album. Also don't give a fuck that Tom's not part of it. I got over that a long time ago

It's better live. Just seen Jools Holland. Guitar more prominent in the verses.

I got over that a long time ago Bored of it lol It's funny you say that, because I was feeling the same way, but I just listened again and caught new bits and pieces in it I hadn't heard before so now I love it again. Definitely the most complex of the AE songs so far
