So exciting! Wonder why they're there and not in Serge's studio.

Woohoo! Consider me hyped up, the next few months are gonna be a nightmare waiting. And I suppose there is some special equipment there that Serge and Tim want to use?

the next few months are gonna be a nightmare waiting. Lol if it's really 'few months' that would be the best thing ever, why a nightmare? It's only 2-3 months they stopped touring and we know Serge was writing and now we have an indication they're recording - basically everything is going perfectly.

Is Dead Bunni a possible title for a song?

From what I am guessing is that they are in Serge's Maida Vale Apartment recording this, instead of The Sergery back in Leicester, #london gives me that hint.
So I am guessing Sergio will be taking help from some producer who stays in and about London, who is supposedly busy with other projects, and can't go to Leicester. Serge usually likes to record them as demos, if you admit it or not, they then head out into the studio, though I am sure he uses bits from those demos.
Since he is with Ben Kealey and Tim Carter, it is mostly synth and drum programming going on here.
Given that, I can see that the album could be released in September, otherwise next year.

The picture Ben posted was taken in a proper studio, not anyone's flat. I don't want to say which, in case they're still going there, but some people have posted it, and if you look at the rest of the hashtags and the distinct decorations, it's very easy to find. I also have reasons to believe Serge doesn't actually have his place in Maida Vale anymore, and even if he does, they're unlikely to record an album in a flat. It's a bit loud, isn't it? As for a producer, time will tell. I think with Tim being involved now it's less likely that they'll need outside help. I know Serge said maybe, but after 48:13 he also said he wishes he had produced on his own sooner. You're right though, they have usually started recording at Serge's and then headed out to a different studio to record the rest, San Francisco at first, State of the Ark last time. However, it doesn't look to me like they're in that last phase of recording yet, Ben for example was immediately back with his pianos after posting that one picture. But who knows why they went there, maybe there's some special equipment like oriar said, maybe they needed a different atmosphere. Although I can't imagine anything cramping Serge's style in his magical studio. We were told they started working on the album ridiculously early (about a year ago?) and they want to come back as soon as possible, so I've got my fingers crossed for a summer release, or at least some summer warm up gigs. But all we can do is wait anyway. #FUTILEFRUSTRATION

The ceiling seems short, the monitors aren't the KRK Rokkits that most people use, and the console clearly isn't the massive one most studios in London have. Well, basically I wouldn't care where the album is made, but as long as it's our boys. But glad you know exactly which studio this is. I just don't understand why he wouldn't want to record in the Sergery, and go to London. Maybe he might need some help here and there, but we'll see how it unfolds.

Hmmmm. They didn't record Velociraptor! in full band formation until the new year, did they? I am calling it now, album out in the late summer, warm up gigs to start in late May/early June. And of course quite a few festivals, maybe headlining Reading/Leeds? (that's the one that is late enough to play quite a bit from the album). ( cuttoff highroyds did your hear anything about touring plans for next year?)

( cuttoff highroyds did your hear anything about touring plans for next year?) I don't know anything about the tour. I don't think anyone does. Velociraptor was quite fast as well. Serge had worked a lot on it in spring 2010, before the festivals. Then he famously tried to take time off after the tour ended in August (in his deck chair) which didn't work, and by November 2010 they were already recording the strings for Velociraptor. So I would think most of the music was finished. Then Tom and Serge went to SF in the new year, also very quickly, because I remember Tom being relieved, like he had expected a longer wait.

It's definitely a professional studio, as cutoff and highroyds have said. Random fact - it's in the same street where my Mum went to high school, a very long time ago. So, if you find my Mum and ask her what street she went to school in, you can find the studio All sorts of reasons they might want some time recording somewhere else, I'm just glad they're recording new stuff.

I don't know if anybody listened to Serge's interview on talksport yesterday about Bowie and of course LCFC, but he was asked about the album and he said he's 'in and out of the studio all the time' and he's 'always writing', which was nice to hear.
