Let's all take a moment to appreciate Kasabian's best guitar riff. That is all. Any time. That song is just perfect. Gets better and better live and when played acoustically, it's just magical. This is one of my favourite versions. It's my alarm for about 5 years, and I'm not tired of it yet.

One of my favourites. I'm always surprised I'm not tired of it, because that tends to happen when they play a certain song all the time, but I'm just not. It keeps getting better. My favourite moment with it was in November 2011 in Berlin, when the build up bit in the middle was new, it made me cry for some reason. It kind of represents that general gig feeling for me.

It's for sure on my Top 3. Powerfull riff, strong melody and really good lyrics. I can't explain too much, just feel.
My favourite version is the one from Brixton Academy 2012, and I have a special feeling for the version from Live at The O2. Both are awesome, I just love the Outro during the song, ending with Serge screaming.
Another thing I love in live versions is the riffs sang by Serge, like Fire, by the Prodigy.
(On YouTube you just found amateur recordings, but I have the pro recording here, and is heavy)

A fantastic opener to the album. I love also how it continues in to Where Did All The Love Go?

So this gorgeous baby won the contest. In theory there are so many songs that I thought should win, but Underdog thoroughly deserves the Ultimate title. It represents Kasabian so well, it's got everything - the guitar riff, big drums, beautiful lyrics and vocals; it can be a big loud monster and a pretty acoustic thing. It never gets old, and when they made the buildup longer, it got even more dramatic.
I adore all the acoustic versions and have a soft spot for the versions with the 'when i was a youth...' snippet. What are your favourite versions? What do you love most about Underdog? Have you seen it live? If (god forbids) you dislike anything about it, what is it?
This is one of my favourite performances I've seen - just listen to this crowd, it was mindblowing
And a pretty acoustic one

I dug up some old videos that are no longer online and we thought we'd post a few bits on our little channel. This is from an acoustic session for a now defunct German website, but it was probably recorded in London, because it was on the same day as Camden Crawl and they're wearing the same clothes.
