A thread for Chris, his basslines, beautiful hair and general awesomeness. My favourite bassline at the moment is Treat, can't get enough of it.

His hair is seriously amazing right now. I never knew I could be so shallow.
He's the loveliest. One of my favourite Chris memories will always be Vienna, when we were going through the different options of who might come out first and getting terribly nervous, and then it was Chris, and he was perfect, we instantly calmed down and got it over with. Marty was hovering in the background with his luggage, going "Uhm, what about this?" and people started twitching a bit because we thought he would leave again now, but he was so patient and sweet, had time for everyone and just kind of shouted to Marty to take it inside. He's even nice to autograph hunters, he's a saint.

Love him. Really nice guy. Was really relaxed when I met him in Dundee.

I enjoyed that, haha. I'm still mad at him. They should all do it together, they're always together anyway.

It's Chris' birthday today, hope he's enjoying it! We have a little tradition on Empire of posting audio snippets from a 2009 interview with Tom and Serge on bandmembers' birthdays and this must be one of my favourite quotes ever, Tom calling Chris a solid fridge magnet

I popped into my local furniture shop because I need some new chairs, the guy who owns the shop was very dry and formal until he noticed my kasabian badge and launched into a monologue about how brilliant the Kasabian bassist is. He's never seen them live, he doesn't even know their names but is a huge music fan and kept telling me he's the best bassist around now, and he loves all the Kasabian basslines (sang a bit of Vlad and Treat basslines for me). I was all 'yeah he's amazing but do you think I can have a discount if I buy a set of chairs' and the guy told me he'll give me a 20% discount because I'm a Kasabian fan. I don't know yet whether I'm buying the chairs but thank you Christopher.

I love his hair and beard now too. He reminds me of a cool 70's Rock star. I think it could be Gregg Allman, Cher's ex husband. In the (rare) interviews on TV & YouTube, he does come across as really approachable & friendly - and not forgetting all that work he does for charity too, totally awesome. My favourite basslines are Swarfiga & Fast Fuse.

Spent quite a bit talking to him at their trailer after the Coachella set. Talked about life, family, music, everything. His bike riding for charity, upcoming rowing trip, just totally random. Couldn't have been a nicer gent. They were all so humble and approachable, nerves were instantly a distant memory.

He did one with his brother a few years ago, I hope they'll have a little diary like the last time again. Also just saw this on instagram https://instagram.com/p/2Hol-MowiM

I think he mentioned next up is a rowing thing for charity. Guess he trashed his knee last time, no more riding, haha.

Just randomly remembered a funny little story about Chris - when we met him after the gig in Bremen last year, there were some drunk football fans singing in the car park and Chris immediately was all 'ah Tom and Serge are out busking already?'

Bumping this up because it's Chris' birthday. I hope that he was partying, and if not, it's only because he was recording some awesome basslines for the new album.
