Thanks for this post! It helps me see the details in the album art better. I wasn't sure about it at first, but the more I look at it, the more I like it. I want that orange vinyl exclusive. Such a cool design. That Twitter post does it a disservice. A title and album art that seem iconic - dare I to dream this album could be West Ryder/Velociraptor! levels of quality?

I feel a bit bad for them that everything is leaking before they got to reveal it the way they planned... but also this never seems to happen to other bands. The cover, title and tracklisting of both 48:13 and FCOL "leaked" because they showed up on Amazon or iTunes before they made an official announcement. Sounds like a you problem.
The orange vinyl looks yummy but I think I'll listen to the album before I spend a lot of money this time.
I don't think comparisons with SLP are entirely inappropriate. Serge was so adamant that it was completely separate from Kasabian, but then he toured with Tim and Chris and played Test Transmission. They're all his songs and sound wise any SLP song could have been on 48:13 or FCOL. How much input do the others have at this point? The only thing that really made it different was that he didn't have to consider Tom's voice when he wrote SLP. It's only natural that it sounds very alike now.

Who can resist an orange vinyl - have preordered it now. And of course now wondering about paradise numbers - does anyone still care?

And of course now wondering about paradise numbers - does anyone still care? So little. I'm curious about what they'll have in their official store, so far the link just goes back to the single. I liked the FCOL bundle they did last time. Of course now it all kind of means nothing to me so I don't even know if I'm going to buy anything besides the CD. They must be announcing it today, right?

And this from HMV:
Of the new album, Kasabian’s seventh, he adds: “One thing about this record I feel over the other ones, is it definitely feels like a body of work that belongs together. It was a beautiful moment in mastering hearing it as a piece. I think it really holds up in our seven albums....The Magnificent Seven”. Kasabian are: Serge Pizzorno, bassist Chris Edwards, drummer Ian Matthews and guitarist Tim Carter. “It’s definitely music to make you feel like anything’s possible,” Serge says of The Alchemist’s Euphoria. “And it feels really exciting because, like always, this band can go absolutely anywhere.” Enjoy the ride!

Nice. I'm excited. I'm glad they're focusing on music.
People are complaining that it sounds different but I'm pretty sure it would have sounded different anyway. The debut doesn't sound like Velociraptor doesn't sound like FCOL. No band has ever stayed the same throughout their career. Everyone was moaning about Coldplay changing their sound in recent years and they were like look, our old albums are still there. You can listen to them. But we need to keep things interesting for ourselves too.

I guess they will never get rid of the Tom comments. No matter how good the music is going to be, it will never sound exactly like a kasabian Tom song, so the negative comments will keep on coming. I mean Tom is still around everyone can listen to his music and follow his act, why so much negativity towards the band? I respect the critique about the autotune the hip hop parts(even though it's in no way bad an it was there since the first album, even Tom was talking about the influence of it in the past) or whatever when it's about the music, but the bring back Tom or whatever similar is extremely annoying. I'm really excited and can't wait for the release, let's hope we will get some more music till then.

I mean Tom is still around everyone can listen to his music and follow his act, why so much negativity towards the band? I think they just want to be angry at someone. Why it's easier to be angry at Kasabian than at Tom, I don't know. Maybe it's because no one can make what Tom did unhappen, but Serge saying "oops I changed my mind, come back" is in theory an option. Which in their eyes makes it Serge's fault. I don't know. Feelings are complicated. I hope with new music there are more interesting things to talk about than Tom.
