(I hope he still has those posters that are behind him in the first clip, I'm in that picture. I always got such a kick out of the fact that I've got him on my wall and he's got me on his lol.) Hehe, that is pretty cool.

Anyways, had a few really fractured weeks so bit of a belated review of this album, but blimey, I love it! Really didn't feel it was promising when only Scripture really grabbed me out of the singles, but wow, how much better does it all work as a whole album? I couldn't get a grip on Chemicals or The Wall at all when I first heard them, but somehow the moment I heard them in the context of the whole thing, I got it (still don't like that "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" line at all, I just don't think it's true but hey). Only songs I'm still meh about are Alygatyr and Rocket Fuel, which just sounds like Obligatory Generic Shouty Track. Totally mesmerised by Stargazr, had that on repeat muchly. Loving Letting Go and Alchemist - T.U.E. is growing on me but floats past me a bit, I need to concentrate, ha. Also how sweet is Strictly Old Skool? First time I heard it I thought he was singing "you're Dr Dre, you're Feeder and you're Cud" and I was like, Feeder? And CUD?? FUCK OFF!! Am so duh. Or deaf

That guitar clip I had totally assumed would be on the album because they used it again in November for a promo thing. It must be a finished song….maybe at the last minute it didn’t make the cut for the album? Indeed it felt like an upcoming music video at the time.

Was there somehow very little promotion? They played on Jools and Serge did three interviews. No radio sessions? No talk shows?
I was looking at another band's releases the other day and suddenly thought it's surprising that the Kasabian fandom has as many collectors as it does because they rarely put out anything really special. FCOL and AE had cassettes and funky vinyls but that was likely to boost sales and not for the love of giving your fans funky vinyls. The Cribs just reissued their first three albums with loads of demos and bonus tracks. There is so much potential for an acoustic album, a remix album, even a cover album when Tom was still around. Maybe I'm jaded by the terrible setlist but everything just feels soooo minimum effort.
Does anyone think we'll be getting a deluxe of AE at some point?

I mean, they just replaced their frontman. Should they put more effort to get new listeners or convince their long-life fans that they're as good as they were? Are they content with what they've done so far? Do they still test the water? Is it the band or the record label's strategy? I mean, they once said were screwed up by their record label so their US tour didn't go well. Deluxe of AE is possible although I think it'll only feature couple new songs like the one they posted on Instagram but never made it into the record. But would that be enough? I believe people want more than just "new songs" when they buy deluxe version like Velociraptor had that Dublin gig and 48:13 had that Summer Solstice gig. But I don't know, they might film a gig on their tour or something else to be featured on deluxe version of AE. I want them to release b-side ASAP since the last ones we got was beanz and gelfling.

I think we're much more likely to get a full live recording than completely new bonus tracks. I don't remember them ever putting bonus tracks on deluxe editions that were not already b-sides before. The only one is probably Rick's Tune, which isn't even a real song. When Chris Moyles called the album "The Alchemist's Eurotrip" Serge was like, amazing, that's what we're calling the deluxe edition. But he might have been joking and there is nothing planned.

I feel like something they don't really do, and haven't for a very long time, is cultivate a fanbase.

I was relistening to the album in the last few days and T.U.E is such an awesome track, a true journey.
