A thread for this very special baby. The opener of the first album, the first big single. It never gets old and sounds so big, even next to the monsters like Vlad and Switchblade Smiles. They say it's a love song, and about having something you love so much, the only way to deal with it is to kill it. My absolute favourite version is the one from iTunes 2007, if you don't have it, go and buy it and listen to it, it's one of the best official recordings ever, Tom's voice is extra special there. I love iTunes 2009 too, it's so loud and terrifying. This is another favourite and this very special one with Zak

My favorite version is the one from Brixton Academy 2005. I love the shots from Tom and Serge just losing it. And Tom kissing Chris. Another favorite one is from Benicassim 2005, with Oasis in attendance and a lovely dedication of Tom's. Whatever version, it is one hell of a song!

The perfect introduction to the band. Massive song.

Was reminded of the video and decided to do some reading. A former aluminium plant in Hungary, that seems to be right beside an area that have Greenpeace concerned due to red toxic sludge leaking out. Christ.
Wiz has kindly uploaded the making of;
Fuck's sake. What a character this Barry is. He makes the whole endeavour seem so Spinal Tap. "The song rocks! It's the first time I've heard it..."
Second edit: I hadn't even got to the point where the tank breaks down...
I love the part where Baz can't get the fifth coat over his fourth and a passer-by has to help him. Also, Dinara Drukarova is very charming.

12 years since this was released. It remains one of their best songs.

AKA 12 years ago Kasabian broke through from anonymity to the British Mainstream. It's insane how fast time flies.

In light of recent events... The lyrics surely hit way closer to home now. "Ah I'll tell you I want you Ah I'll tell you I need you Ah The blood ain't on my face Ah Just wanted you near me"
