Having watched Acid Turkish Bath for like 20 times I wanted to ask if it's reasonable to wait more European solo gigs this year, how do you think? They almost haven't been to Eastern Europe on FCOL tour. No Poland, one festival in Ukraine, no Scandinavia at all. Plus they so rarely play in Baltic countries.

Baltics would be nice. Would love to go there for a gig. Latvia and Estonia got their gigs in 2015 and 2017 so Vilnius would be my favourite + Krakow for Poland

I wonder what's going to happen with this tour. I've heard a rumour that there's nothing planned after September, which would surprise me because they've barely done anything. 6 gigs in 6 months.

They're getting old. Can't be caning it like they used to 🤣
Or maybe Serge has run out of silly outfits to wear.
I swear, if he doesn't dump the stripey trousers for the next album....

I hate to be saying that but could it be that the world has had enough of Kasabian?

I hate to be saying that but could it be that the world has had enough of Kasabian? I really hope not. But I have noticed a drastic decrease of interest in pretty much everything where the fandom is concerned. I've been thinking about making a thread about it for a while but wasn't sure how.

I hate to be saying that but could it be that the world has had enough of Kasabian? There is an issue sometimes when bands go a few years between albums. People can get interested in other bands instead or an album eventually comes out and it's kind of disappointing. I think that music is being consumed differently these days in the digital age and bands need to be aware of this. They should maybe look at bringing out short EPs in between albums or surprise songs to keep things interesting.

I see your point about disappointing album and I only have to say that FCOL is nothing but 'an average record'. It's not bad. It's not great. It's not a long listen. I doubt it was in my playlist after Summer 2017. Similar vibes about 48:13 but at least the pink era got a massive tour.

People can get interested in other bands instead or an album eventually comes out and it's kind of disappointing. But they never go a few years between albums. Every other band I know of takes much longer breaks. Kasabian put out an album, tour for 2 years, go home for a week and start writing the next album. Sometimes it comes out the very next year, sometimes there's a year in between (2008, 2013, 2016) but in that case they always play some gigs. They're never really gone. I see casual fans complain sometimes because "it's been 3 years, get off your arse" but during that time they're touring all over the world. I'm so for EPs and random songs between albums, but we know what happened the last time they tried to release an EP. To be honest I don't think they can be arsed. Serge probably has so much stuff lying around, like psychedelic instrumental bits that we would just lap up. He could put it on Bandcamp. I made a thread so we can continue there.

I changed the thread title to "rumours / speculation" so it's not limited to specific existing rumours. There have been a few threads along the lines of "do you think they'll come to [country] soon?" in the past, and unless people feel really strongly about keeping it separate I thought that sort of thing could officially go in here as well.

Sergio seems to be launching a solo project? I thought it would be a clothing thing but The S.L.P. on Facebook has a tag 'musician/band'. Any thoughts?

Kasabian's Sport Relief post says "only gig in 2020", not "only UK gig in 2020".

Kasabian's Sport Relief post says "only gig in 2020", not "only UK gig in 2020". I think it's unlikely that they're doing anything abroad. cuttoff saw Ian and Gary the other day and I think they said they're not doing anything. Although Serge seems to be working, so maybe there'll be something early next year?

Do you think they'll follow the usual tour pattern this year? A couple of warm up gigs before the festivals, Europe in autumn?
