I wonder if they'll release it on Friday. EA keep adding new songs to their Spotify playlist, and the last two of them were listed as "debut tracks" along with Kasabian in the official announcement. New music usually comes out on Fridays anyway, and the 30th will be the day after the game is released everywhere, so it would make sense.

I'm not too sure about the song as a whole yet, as there is a lot going on, maybe too much for me. But I LOVE the chorus! Already drilled itself into my brain.

I think it's rather interesting because a) I was right about Friday, b) we finally know that a release was planned (this will be yet another era of finding out things by accident because nobody can be arsed to tell us anything, won't it?) and c) a spokesperson told them it won't be released, sure. I'm a bit surprised that NME acknowledged it at all, I saw several music news type websites from other countries post the video last week, but I thought NME being their special buddies probably won't touch a leaked song.
Do you think they'll deign to announce something before Friday? Or will the song just pop up on Spotify for us to stumble across? I keep checking Amazon because at this point it wouldn't surprise me if the album was suddenly out and the just forgot to mention it.
ETA: "placed it online this morning (September 26)" - date on the video very clearly says September 21, they probably don't want to admit that it took them five days to notice it. #littlenmethings

NME jokes and Ori's fame aside, this is such an annoying situation. Is it possible that they're not allowed to announce the single before it's out on the game? I just want some sort of semi-rational explanation for all this weirdness.

"The band have played down the song, with their spokesman telling NME recently that it was unlikely to feature on Kasabian’s new album, which will be released next year."

The funny thing is, if they had announced a proper release right away I wouldn't even have been that interested in a leak. I can wait as long as it takes if I know it's coming. But the way things were looking, a rip from the game was our only chance to hear the song at all. Especially after NME said it won't be on the album. What are we supposed to think? What did they expect?

So there are only about 10-15 possibilities that can happen, everything is so crystal clear! 1. Comeback Kid comes out as a single on Friday and we find it because we keep refreshing itunes and spotify 2. Comeback Kid is randomly released on Friday on Spotify on its own, not as a single 3. Comeback Kid is not released anywhere except on FIFA 4. Comeback Kid is released both as a single and on the album 5. Comeback Kid is released as a single but is not on the album 6. Comeback Kid is not released as a single but is on the album 7. Kasabian actually announce a single before Friday 8. Kasabian actually announce anything (the least likely option) 9. Comeback Kid is somehow made accessible to the fans in a form other than a leak 9. The album is released this Autumn (according to Q) 10. The album is released next year (according to NME) 11. Kasabian forget about releasing Comeback Kid this Friday and it's randomly added to spotify in 3 months. 12. oriar has the album
