Since it's Serge's birthday today, we thought he finally needed his own thread! Favourite Serge songs must be Take Aim, Black Whistler, Fairy, Acid Turkish Bath, Narcotic Farm and Glass. Favourite performance - Neon Noon, nothing comes close to that. It just did something to me.
I love how his voice keeps getting better and better, it's so amazing on Everybody’s Got To Learn Sometime, really hope they play it once in a while. Looove that acoustic Take Aim from the collection above, I wish he'd play all his songs acoustically - imagine acoustic Acid Turkish Bath.

I shall have to listen to all of them again (any excuse). I agree that his voice keeps getting better. You know, after I read this thread, I couldn't help thinking that he could have played an acoustic set last month at the Refugees benefit gig. He has the voice, enough songs, the talent. Maybe he does not like doing these things without the band. |

I think it was more the fact he wanted to be at Noel Fielding's show  We need to remember, none of the band confirmed they were going to play that gig, it was never officially confirmed by anybody. They chose not to be there, as is absolutely their right. I didn't buy the 'illness' thing and I was not in the least bit cross with any of the band. I believe they may have said they'd possibly do it, but then decided there were things they'd rather be doing. We chose to take the risk and we made the wrong decision but I see no reason why Serge should have been there when none of the band had officially said they would be there. |

Maybe he does not like doing these things without the band. I don't think he does, actually. It might have changed by now, but a couple of years ago he was saying he couldn't go on stage without Tom. This is probably my favourite performance. |

British Legion is so lovely live, it suits Serge's voice so well. It's probably the only Kasabian song I can't imagine Tom singing it.

British Legion is so lovely live, it suits Serge's voice so well. It's probably the only Kasabian song I can't imagine Tom singing it. This is actually an interesting topic. Which Serge songs would or would not suit Tom's voice? Explodes for example is a Tom song. And Serge sings is in a way that to me it is actually Tom singing this song;) Besides British Legion, I think U boat, Take Aim, Levitation and Glass are more for Serge. Maybe also La Fee Verte. |

Hmm. I can actually hear Tom do some of the slower ones like British Legion, Glass or Happiness. Not Black Whistler though. And not things like Bow or Take Aim. Fairy is very Serge as a whole, although if Tom's backing vocals are anything to go by he would sound gorgeous singing it too.
