https://instagram.com/p/4ULwwMnafi There is an interview with Serge in this month's Rolling Stone Russia. If anybody has access to it, would be amazing if you could share some scans. I tried to buy it from itunes Russia store but it says it's not available. Does anybody know whether the digital edition is uploaded a few days after the paper editions are out? There is a little teaser here which informs us that most of the fans of the 'hooligan' band heard their songs on video game soundtracks and refers to Serge as a former footballer. I hope it gets better in the actual interview.

Very boring interview. Actually there are much less interview than author's narration about different well known facts about the band.

Very boring interview. Actually there are much less interview than author's narration about different well known facts about the band. Yeah, I just skimmed through and it's the usual checklist of football / Noel Fielding / video games / Happy Mondays / dinosaurs whatever. I wish Russian media would stop calling Tom 'Mei-gan' though, he mentions his name often enough in the interviews and if they've watched a few, they'd know how to pronounce it. Thanks for sharing them here stepstr, do you mind adding the original source/credit to your post as well please.

To be honest it happens quite often when author wants to show band's energy but he uses wrong words that may seem rude to someone. To tell you the truth I never liked russian RS because they are quite ordinary in materials they publish, they are boring. Btw it is so unsual to see Russian letters here

The only new thing we learned was that he drives a mini cooper I'm seriously questioning the logistics of that.

Nevermind this interview above, I take all I said back. Randomly came across to another one from Rolling Stone Russia from Feb 2015, which I thought is one of the most accusatory interviews I've seen - Russian speakers what do you think stepstr jayfreeman voldemar frencheezeh? Tom basically spends most of the interview justifying himself that he's not taking singing lessons, because apparently his voice was worse on the first three albums and got better only on Velociraptor! (Tom gives an impassionated answer how his voice and music is within him and has to come from his heart, not from lessons), that cancelling gigs is not his decision and defending Chris who wanted to be around when his child was being born. The interviewer wants to know what his mum thinks about his swearing (crucial info for a music journalist obviously!); and the Pretty Green 'ad campaign', which Tom helpfully explains that it's not a campaign but Liam once took his pic, that's it and he finds it funny that they call him a 'model'. The rest of the questions are still very patronising - how many times per week and for how many hours they're rehearsing (Tom: we rehearse after my singing lessons) and what was the last time alcohol helped him though a gig. I don't know, maybe I'm being too demanding but you get to interview this amazingly talented musician, and all you can ask whether he gets told off by his mum and a Pretty Green t-shirt?

Well, what can i say about this interview... To be honest i do not believe Tom said even half of the things in it to begin with;) And what he did say is "edited" to sound kinda rough and mean. He never speaks like that and it is not his choice of words. I saw a couple of his interviews in Russia on youtube - they went down very differently. But this is journalists for ye - i think they just tried to appeal to certain kind of readers or something. But this interview doesn't sound authentic.

and the Pretty Green 'ad campaign', which Tom helpfully explains that it's not a campaign but Liam once took his pic, that's it and he finds it funny that they call him a 'model'. I remember having to take that off his Wikipedia page a few times because someone was completely convinced that wearing some clothes once = modelling for a brand. I don't know, maybe I'm being too demanding but you get to interview this amazingly talented musician, and all you can ask whether he gets told off by his mum and a Pretty Green t-shirt? This is my issue with so many interviews. People are always like "but it's so cute to read about their children!!" (a big journalist favourite) but... there are so many things to ask them about that are actually related to their work. And interviewers are like "so what is it like having a baby" which they can pretty much ask anyone ever. Not these, please. Them having reproduced once or twice is not why I'm a fan of this band, not why I bought this magazine, not what I expected to read when you promised an in-depth article about the new album. Etc. There are so many questions about their songs I would love to ask them, and these people from the big publications get to sit down with them every couple of months, spend so much time with them, and I feel like not a single morsel of new or exciting information ever comes out of it. It gets frustrating. As if he needs singing lessons. Have you heard him? I feel like he was asked something similar about his mum and the swearing somewhere years ago, and he said that's where he gets it from.

Sounds quite interesting, although how do they rehearse after Tom's singing lesson if he isn't taking singing lessons?
