Just got home a little while ago. What terrific gigs! I'm still buzzing!!!!! Even despite the Tivoli queue hell, the perfection of the gig made up for it!!!! I keep remembering little magical moments! And I met so many lovely lovely people!!!! frencheezeh I cannot tell you how I loved meeting you and your husband! And then having drinks on the canal after the show! How magical! We were discussing how both nights were brilliant but in completely different ways and we're so happy we got to experience both! I may upload a couple of photos later, but right now I'm shattered! This band is magic.

This was the intro for both Groningen and Utrecht, does anybody know what is it? Could it be a snippet of Torture In D Minor lol? Btw the stage looks so high

Btw the stage looks so high It was. I think they just put the barrier too close to the stage, a metre further back and it would have been fine, but there was just a small gap, the photographers really had to squeeze past the security. All my pics of Serge look funny because of the angle, it looks like I stood under him. Here is People Are Strange. There was a woman behind us shrieking along in the beginning, I thought it would be much worse on the recording though.

Maybe I'm getting my gigs mixed up. I know he did the Bataclan in 2009 and he DJ'd for them a couple more times. He plays good songs.

But getting back to the opening acts, I quite liked them. Though I was slightly terrified when it looked like the guitarist for the Tivoli show was going to spit out the water on us! SO glad he didn't...

Oh I didn't think it was bad, or maybe I just don't remember.

Oh I didn't think it was bad, or maybe I just don't remember. They just played a best of Britpop compilation they probably bought at a service station on the way. And afterwards they posted a picture I took on their Instagram without credit.

Sounds like you had a good time, still not sure at all that Stevie is fitting to open an encore.

Sounds like you had a good time, still not sure at all that Stevie is fitting to open an encore. Have you seen it live like that? It was very impressive in Brixton with only the strings, Gary and Tim, very dramatically lit from behind. It gets a big reaction from the crowd as well.

Hah, sounds charming. So, selist? Tivoli is an appalling venue. We queued from around 12 I think, very organised, numbered ourselves so we knew who the first 20 people or so were. After finally deciding how many doors they were going to open, staff put a sign up saying doors 7:30. Eventually it was 7:45. They didn't check our tickets at the door, they let us run in through the entrance hall towards a big staircase. There two confused young girls checked the tickets. Some people simply ran past without getting it scanned, nobody did anything about it. We had to run across the entire upstairs gallery, then there was another staircase, and finally the venue. We were originally 8th in the queue, we got one of the last spots at the barrier. Security was one lonely man in a three piece suit who got upset when he had beer thrown on him. At some point there was a crowdsurfer coming over and I got really scared because he wouldn't have known what to do, luckily they dropped him. The gig itself was wonderful though. Great atmosphere, the band loved it, Tom said it's a shame it's not being filmed because "it's one of those moments." We definitely earned our places at the barrier for this gig! that was really wild and scary too, because all those stairs were really dangerous, and the beer showers, the stupid woman behind me making a hole in my shirt, the crowdsurfers and the helpless security guys... But the band played us such a wonderful gig that they made up for all these little annoyances. They were so good and enjoying themselves, I am happy that we witnessed "one of those moments" like Tom said. And Chris literally handing his setlist to my husband at the end of the gig because he recognized us from the previous evening...these guys are just the best. And I was so pleased to meet you highroyds, cuttoff and sundaygirl. Thanks for sharing your experience and your wonderful Kasabian stories!
