Sadly,I discovered them late.It was back in 2012 when I got a new laptop and I saw their name in a music site and I thought their name sounded cool:p Then I felt really surprised that I knew many of their songs but I had no clue it's the same band singing them. So,I started listening more and more and I got obsessed. That year it was the first time they visited my country but it was just a few days before I started listening properly. It made me really sad that I lost them then.I remember watching news about them and wonder if they'll ever come back again. They came two years later and I was the happiest person alive.I just wish to have known them earlier. Too many things that I've lost. But never's too late I guess:)

Why dull? Many people know them from FIFA... Plus,Kasabian and football are always go together for several reasons.

It was 2004, I was 15 and we have this awesome independently funded radio station in my town that played the latest alternative rock with no commercials (just the dj saying this hour brought to you by *insert local companies here* for like 2 minutes every hour) and I discovered most of the music I listen to today thru this station, so when a catchy little tune called "LSF" started playing it caught my attention. By the end of the song, I was blown away. It was like everything I never knew I loved about music in a song. Shortly after this, I went out and bought their first album. Life changed before I finished the first play-thru

First time posting here - and to be fair Kasabian are not one of my favourite bands although I will throw them on once or twice a year.
Just thought I'd share how I was introduced to them many years ago. I was 13 at the time and it was prior to the their debut album coming out. My mum actually worked with Tom's dad in Leicester and would share their promo CD's with me. They naturally caught my attention and went to the studio to watch them play many times (if I remember right it was a barn like structure in Leicestershire?.) Ended up with loads of merchandise including the aforementioned promo Cd's, various copies of the album, promo stickers and a few signed photos which I still have boxed up at my parents. On that note - I'm not sure if anyone can clarify but one of the members changed their name prior to the debut album as I recall Tom's dad telling me the photos were signed with an old name.
As I said before, I still don't regularly listen to Kasabian, however I feel fortunate enough to have met them during their roots and still have access to their lock up with all their old bits of kits in, including their original drum kit used to record with. I'm working in France for the summer but once I'm back home I will happily upload some photos of this and will send on some of the merchandise to any fans as I know stuff like this is gold dust for diehard fans.
Cheers!

Cheers! How exciting! I'd love to see some of your pictures. They had so much fun merch and promo stuff in the early days, now it's all gone a bit generic and lazy. Chris Pratt became Chris Karloff, but I have no idea if he ever legally changed his name. I think his signature was always a sort of squiggly CP. You don't happen to have one of these promos with the prototype masked man you'd be willing to part with?

I actually do have one of these promo CD's, I wouldn't have known without a picture but I'll definitely hunt for it once I'm back home (about October time as I said I'm working in France for the summer on a campsite). Drop me your email on a private message and I'll happily send it if you was to provide payment for posting. I'm not sure about the name change - I'll look in to it more and get back to you - I know it was something someone changed before the album as they didn't like their surname but couldn't really clarify any further than that. Especially without having access to the photographs to link up. Obviously I know they are a big band and have a large following but awesome to hear so many passionate people on these forums.
